Trying to determine which version of Megatron I have

Post by Charly »

Hi. New to the site and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

My grandmother cleaned out her closets and came upon an unopened Megatron from the early 80's. From what I can gather it should definatley be a G1 Megatron but in all my searching I can't find the same packaging this one comes in. It was bought in Canada.

The photos can be found here:

The differences I've noted in my searchs are:

- Bottom left front of box "Decepticon Leader: Megatron" is outlined in yellow but not on other box photos I've found on-line.

-Back of box: Tech Specs portionis printed from one side of the box to the other in both english and french. On other boxes I've seen there is usually a few inches on the right of the box where there is more background photo showing.

-There is also a number on the bottom front of the box "E 5793" which I can't locate on others. This is part of the actual box print.

If anyone could tell me where I could find information on that I'd appreciate it.

I'll mention that Chef is French (and German) for commander, in a chief sense.

But this is great "What if" fic material:

All Megatron wanted was to start a restaurant. He was conquering districts of Cybertron he wanted open franchises, since he had no money for leases. Then he needed to conquer other planets to find the finest energon, oil, and other ingredients....

Having realized this, the Autobots offered Megatron Propriety of a franchise on Cybertron, and first pick of each harvest for his ingredients. He quickly agreed and became the Autobot Chef as they explore the galaxy for new recipes and exotic spices....

These are the adventures of the TransFooders.
