Question about Transformers the Animated Movie, HELP!

Hey everyone, got a pretty simple question but something I'm puzzled about. I've seen the Transformers Movie like a billion times now, when it first came to Video in 1988 or so and then later on when I bought the DVD. I have the unrated DVD with the sh%# and damn words which I'm happy with but I was going through my boxes of stuff today and I found a Transformers Movie on VHS that I'm not sure it's origins. It came in a black clamshell case, but not the Disney sized clam shells, this one was alittle bigger than the actual video.

Here's the part I don't get though, the movie seems to be the non theatrical version with the sh%$ word taken out BUT...the beginning of the movie features the opening title and instead of the cast credits like my DVD has, the opener has a Star Wars type monologue scrolling up the screen with the Transformers Narrator speaking it. I don't remember this being part of the other TF videos I've seen nor was it in the theatrical version either. Any body know of this version?, the history of it and whether or not I have myself a rare version or something.

I can tell you that it was made by Rhino video back in 97 I think but that's all I know. If anyone can help me out to solve this mystery, I shall crown you lord of the Transformers!

I know exactly what you are talking about. I used to have the same VHS tape before I bought the DVD. I believe it was the most common version of the movie before the DVD came out.
Don't crown me lord of the Transformers yet, since I don't have much info for you.
