I had to go look at my shock wave parts to make sure you still have to split the fore arm two screws them the one screw out of the laser tip then get ahold of the open end of the laser tip the side inside the fore arm and pull it apart just enough to put the wires on the same side of the screw hole ...

take the screws out of his fore arm first I think there are two of them maybe three split the fore arm this will show you the laser tip with just the wire coming out of it then take the single screw out of the laser tip it will split too you may have to pull on it a little but it will pull apart

but if you are just repacing the laser tip just take that screw out and the tip splits in half the wires are no problem then and the circuit board for that wire is in the tail flap if you need the get the wire out

the wires that are in your way can be cut loose at the circuit board pulled back out of the way and then soldered back in place when you are done I did this exact job on tuesday nite and it still works fine
