Re: Any MASK fans here?
I'm simultaneously excited and not! It's good that MASK is finally getting some official love after years of teasing, but I don't know if I'm going to buy in if they're just doing straight remakes of the Series 1 cast. Owning originals of all these, it seems a little redundant to buy the new ones. I do get a kick out of them advertising that they fixed Switchblade's sketchy tail lock mechanism!

That makes a lot of sense. I only have two left from the original cast. By time I was old enough to really appreciate the ones I had left, it was to late to get them. I have considered over the years trying to track them down, but often if I have money to burn I wanna use it on transformers. I am super interested in picking these up. Though it would be a lot of fun to see them once they get through the first wave to see if they can bring something new to the table. I guess it depends on how well they do.

Re: Any MASK fans here?
MASK prices have gone up quite a bit since 2020. Loyal Subjects have been very cagey about revealing prices for the new stuff. I'm also curious how well it scales to the originals, because I imagine they'll be doing a Shark, and I'd love to have one that at least works with the Kenner stuff. I'm gonna be disappointed if they're not quite the right size.

Ah yes, there is the crux of it. Price.. That has me worried. I am really hoping they are not going to be astronomical. I hope we get more news soon. Also hoping Not to get killed on Tariff's as I am now living in Canada and the whole Tariff thing has become a big pain.

Re: Any MASK fans here?
i'm vaguely aware that MASK exists and that at some point Hasbro acquired the intellectual property. For Transformers, Hasbro has had to adapt to new legal issues regarding toys resembling real-world vehicles. Just because G1 Tracks was a Corvette, that doesn't mean Reveal the Shield Tracks can be or will be. Masterpiece, maybe, if you get a license from Chevy. How will these sorts of things affect MASK toys, whether reissues, remakes, or new designs?
MASK became part of IDW's "Hasbro universe". Is MASK part of Skybound Entertainment's Energon Universe? Free Comic Book Day showed Matt Trakker helping fix Hound. How will that affect the toys (and your buying them)?

M.A.S.K. was part of Kenner and I know Hasbro bought Kenner some time ago. I have always hopped Hasbro would do something with it. I feel like they could definitely make some bank with it, or do a Haslab on it and see the response.

Well the pre-orders are finally up. I was really curious how the prices would be. They do feel a bit high, but given the state of things in the world I suppose they could be even higher. I put a pre-order in for the two I really always wanted as a kid.
Those being M.A.S.K. High Tech Helicopter and M.A.S.K. Thunderhawk
The other two in this wave are the Condor which I never really cared much for. And the big one of the set which is M.A.S.K. Mobile Defense Unit and while cool when I think back to the line was never one I was super in love with. Its cool but does not really trigger any strong feels.

Def looking forward to these. MASK was never my main jam back in the day but I did have a handful of them and had fun. They've long been lost to the mists of time, though... didn't manage to hang on to any of them. Looking forward to getting these and having some MASK representation on my shelves, for sure!

Re: Any MASK fans here?
I need to make sure I expand my footprint to ensure I don't miss anything. Below is my link to where I posted high-res pics of my vintage items as I'm cleaning them up.
M.A.S.K. Discussion Thread
I did pick up The Loyal Subjects' reproductions, but frankly, they leave me disappointed for the cost compared to the originals. So barring any major revelations and overhaul in their manufacturing and quality, I'm back to stalking TFLand for filling in gaps.
I also posted an evaluation under the same username over in the MASK subreddit for a deeper dive. The added engineering features didn't excuse the defects, lower grade materials, and engineering mistakes (like Rhino's lack of door stops, a buggy seat, or correctly oriented fuel tanks.)
I am going to take a stab at Ramen Toys Machina products starting with their not-Shark and likely their not-Manta. My Manta is complete... Minus poor Vanessa and her mask which have gone AWOL.
I also need to reacquire the following if anyone has "spares"?

- Hurricane Spare Tire projectile

- Intact chassis for Razorback
