Did you know that many, if not all, of the early Transformers toys were just repackaged figures from other toylines that Hasbro/Takara got the rights to? Yeah, Jetfire wasn't the only one. Other examples include, but are far from limited to, Bumblebee (yellow) and Cliffjumper (red).

And in some cases, those toylines had other figures that were never officially made into Transformers, and every once in a while, one of those transforming non-Transformers got packaged as a Transformer. Thus the occasional red Bumblebee, or the incidental yellow Cliffjumper--or the random Bumblejumper. (Call 'im "Bumper" for short.)

In other words, Bumblejumper was never a real Transformer--he was just occasionally accidentally packaged and sold as one. He never even had his own name until fans and collectors gave him one, inspired by the fact that he was accidentally packaged either as Bumblebee or Cliffjumper. The unintentionality of his presence among the TF toys is the reason for his rarity, and his rarity makes him valuable.

i have no idea how valuable, though. i have no money, so i don't really look at prices when i go looking for Transformers stuff (in stores or online) to stare at wistfully until it's time to write a letter to Santa about it.

[EDIT]
Oh, yeah, pics.

Probably I'm just too stubborn, or I simply ain't got that much money to collect every single of the Transformers. Basically I have been only collecting G1 Transformers that showed up in the 80's cartoon except G1 Whirl, which is the best helicopter ever made as a Transformer in my opinion. The truth is I just don't pay much attention to those Transformers who have never been true characters, and all the colour variant tricks just don't make much sense to me. I got G1 Bumblebee, I got G1 Cliffjumper as well, neither in good condition, and I am not even thinking about getting a G1 Bumblejumper.
G1 Transformers,
the incredible creatures,
nothing else can be better,
WE LOVE THEM FOR EVER.

no, bumble jumper is a different casting. he transforms like bumblebee and cliff jumper, but is a different car with a different face. those are just factory variations. but the reverse colors are worth a little more than the regular colored ones.

Bumblejumper resembles a Mazda Familia (which looks to me like the called 323 here). It's a completely different casting from Bumblebee, Clifjumper and Hubcap and it's definetely in my wish list.

Sweet, I love the old 323s. If your lucky, you can find the turbo versions which are hard as hell to find.

By now, a small scale replica will do ;).

In fact, if I was looking for a real car, I would try to get a Station Wagon Audi, or a Datsun 280ZX in case I wanted a sportscar.

Among the Japanese car makers, is Mazda your top favorite? Mine is Datsun, by the way, but certainly I like them all.

Mazda is my favorite maker period. Datsun, never ever hear people say that anymore, unless its a 240 or 280 ZX.

BUt yes, Mazda is my bytch. How many other car manufactures that have been around for a long time, have actually be able to succsefully sell not just Piston Engine cars, but another whole style engine, meaning the Wankel Rotary.

Now you have heard a person who likes Datsun, beyond the Z cars. Or shall I say "read"?

Mazda is also a great choice, by the way.

I thought of that, but I just found two red cars. However, there is a red version of Bumblejumper, if that helps on something...

And if I remember correctly, you were asking earlier about Ironhide. To my point of view, it looks Toyota. Toyota Lite Ace.

I have just checked your picture archive and I wanted to point a correction: Motormaster is a Kenworth Cab Over Aerodyne. With this one I'm positive, jut check the grill. Optimus still leaves me doubtful, the cab shape looks like a Kenworth, but the grill is somewhat Freightliner.

And if you plan on adding them, Windcharger is a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (same as KITT), Cliffjumper a Porsche 924 and Brawn a Land Rover Defender.

really? i didn't know that's what brawn was. Motormaster i just guessed, and the pic i have for OP is as OP is, a 1973 freightliner dual axle COE. and i've always seen Ironhide as a nissan cherry vanette. the mazda was the closest i could find as far as styling.
and i actually have a white and red trans am (WC and tailgate), just haven't uploaded them yet.

since the shock about brawn's identity, is gears still a fictional truck?

Go to http://www.seibertron.com/news/index.php
They have a character data base wich tells you what the vehicles are.
I have no clue if they are exact or not but their discription sounds good to me 8)

These are all according to their data base...

Gears--is just call a 4WD off road truck
Ironhide---Nissan Onebox Cherry Vanette
Brawn---Land Rover Defender 4x4
Motormaster---Kenworth K100 Aerodyne Sleeper Semi Truck
Bumblejumper---Mazda Familia 1500 XG

Alright, Ironhide is a Nissan then. I made a search on that vehicle and nothing and all my childhood I had the idea it was a Toyota. Well, I'm not too old for rethinking that. ;)

Now, for Motormaster, I don't have a picture of the real vehicle, but I have more than one Matchbox truck matching. This is the only black I have, though:

Gears may be a generic vehicle, as Galvatron (if you tell me your real name, I'll call you that way, and so I prefer) stated. I can't see any close to it.

Beachcomber, however, one I forgot to mention, being a Buggy is way easy to customize (the real vehicle, I mean), but if you want to start a search, go for Meyers Manx Buggy. They have a VW engine, if you like to know freak facts.
