Cartoon series err no. I don;t like the animation style so I am not ever going to have a look. Unfortunately the style carries on over into the toys so that ruins about 90-100% of the stuff for me. I like the movie figures (they are not evil mutated spawns of a four year old's imagination]. But this animated stuff screams playskool TF's.

The only other TF line I was not interested in was the vehicons from beast machines. Saying that All that does interest me from that entire line are two dinobots to customise and magmatron (who was a direct copy of his beast wars neo self.).

interesting thread - it's the first time I've seen it.

The toys mostly look very cool, apart from their heads which just look odd.... this same oddity makes me wonder whether I'll like the cartoon. I mean, OK, we must remember that some things change to rope in the new audience of kids with their current tastes, but then, you also have to remember your loyal base of collectors too... Overall, the robot modes of most of the toys look great, but many of the vehicle modes look goofy.... and soundwave, holding a guitar!? He's a Decepticon - what does he need with that!? (though I'll still be buying one

)

I would assume the guitar is a mix between Gene Simmons bass, (Shooting flames and whatnot out of it), and that of El Kabong.

As for the release date, I would assume right after X-mas agin (loike the second run of Classics in early 2007), so that by X-mas next year they will have already been clearanced out. Hasbro is genius at releasing stuff at a time of year that ensures they can make this most money!

As for the Playskool look to them, so be it. I am tired of the only thing my kids being able to play with being legends class. Sure is saves me a couple bucks, but they want the bigger ones, and the fast action battlers (save for Starscream) have to be lined up so perfectly, that every time my 6 year old tries a transformation, I get to hear, "Daddy, can yet put this roof (Ironhide) windshield (Optimus Prime) arm (Brawl) back on?"

Say what you want about being a collector, and them needing to remember you, but shouldn't they have something for the kids? After all, call them collectables all you want, but it is a cartoon, it is for kids, and the movie was not. If the movie really was for kids, would it have had masturbation jokes?

Besides, Teen Titans was a decent cartoon by the end of the series (though it took a while to pick up). If this cartoon is anything like Teen Titans (as the animation style leans), then that can mean good things.

Well for me...since I esp. love collecting any figure of Prime and Megatron, this series will be no exception. I am collecting any versions of Prime and Megatron, since they are my two most favorite characters!

Sure wish Hasbro would have decided to make a Classic Line cartoon series to go with their 2.0 Classic Line toys. I think it would have been much better! I'd even of settled for either a Alternator or Titanium cartoon series!

Yep way better than what this junk series will be like. (after being forced to watch one clip I now put all the Tf series in order best to worst:

G1[best: all series, season 1-4, masterforce, headmasters and victory]>beast wars>beast wars 2> beast wars neo> RID>armarda>beast machines>energon>cybertron>animated(worst)

All I can say is meh. I'll pass on all the toys and get more alternators. (you can never have enough alternators...)

My only beef with the new series is that, like some of you, I think the animation looks terrible. It really, really turns me off (see the comic strip I posted on the first page). That said, though, I'm willing to give it a chance and check it out before I disown it.
As for the toys ... meh. No strong feelings either way. I do think the Bumblebee looks cute.

I think people are doing exactly what they did with the movie and hating way too soon.
I have seen clips on youtube and I think it looks great, my only problem is I don't like Primes voice but I think it'll grow on me.

just don't judge before you see, plus totally dismissing it and not even trying it, that's just a closed mind. we need to accept that TFs will continue to evolve as the years pass.
