Just wondering how many combiners were offered as toys and how many you could get in the giftset boxes :?

oh! good call! i thought i was forgetting someone.
the US 5-member giftset is pretty rare, but there was a JP king poseidon giftset with all six that might actually be more common. Go Tur-tu-la!

there are also the japanese only G1 combiners:

Raiden
Land cross
Road ceaser
Lio kiaser
Dinoking [monstructor recolor]

All had giftset variants. As well as individual figures.

There are also two insanely rare late G1 recolors that ONLY came in giftset boxes:

Battle Gaea
Guard City
Sig currently not available:

No, Transformers were very popular in Italy and so Japanese animation in general. Actually, they had a generous load of pre TFs and many EU-exclusive figures, and in my opinion, it's a great place to find bargains on rare stuff.

:D And to think when I had the choice of a pirannacon gift set or a micro machines city all those years a go, i choose wrong, then again the box probabally wouldn't have lasted anyways :cry: .
Out of interest I don't ever remember seeing a Stunticons giftset making it to Aust back in the 80's.
