They all mentioned the chest piece and how it didn't quite sit on the rest of the figure. So after some fiddling, i found out that they were all mis-transforming him and figured out the correct way to do it.
so i'll show you how. Sorryin advance for slightly blurry pictures.

make sure you position the pieces as shown in the left picture. The dino head will slot into place (it doesn't lock but sits quite well). After that, you can continue the rest of the transformation as usual.
