AGCO doesn't own Cat
Agco most definatly does own Cat, but not the construction division just the agri division. More specifically the Challenger brand.

http://www.agcocorp.com/default.cfm/PID=1.7.5

is the link, but I dont know how to link it.
I'm sorry for getting into technicalities...but this is one of my "pet peeves"...

....

Well TT was correct. AGCO purchased the division from Cat, which Cat split off in 2002. So AGCO doesn't own any of Cat the company...they own a division which originally was a part of Caterpillar. This completely different from say, Ford owning Volvo/Mazda, as mentioned above. So it's incorrect to say that AGCO owns the agriculture division of Cat...Cat sold it to them..it's no longer Cat's. Again apologies for the details but I have been drilled into this line of thought so much that it now bothers me when I see terms used incorrectly.

Anyway to clear up any and all confusion....here is a list of AGCO's subsidiaries...Cat isn't listed.

Groupement International De Mecanique Agricole SA, is a 50% joint venture between AGCO France SA and Renault Agriculture
I think, and I may be wrong, that this info is out of date as Renault agriculture is now fully owned by Claas, who themselves produced the Challenger for a time in the green white and red coulours of Claas. But having just read the history books from my collection of all things agriculture you are correct in that Agco does not own Catterpillar the company but the bought the rights, patents and marketing network of the agri division primarily the Challenger tracked tractors and as far as I understand it allowed Claas badge engineer the Challenger tractor. It does get confusing with everyone buying everyone else out and names dissapearing from the market. In fact the ONLY tractor maker to have remained from its origins to the present without being bought out is John Deere.

I suppose. You could say that Cat is still in its origins, since it was just a name change away from Holt, and even though they sold challenger agricultural, they still make track-type crawlers ;)

Just nearly twenty years out of date and you can fit more on a CD than an old 8 track tape

I was so just about to do that as well.
I would have said dinos. just to the point that there are so many DEV parts out there that people are giving them away. That's how I got mine, doesn't every one get Devastator parts given to them?

that is a custom made by...i forget the guy's name.

but he posts on the the tfw2005 boards and is a well-known customizer/scratch-builder/kit-basher there.

That devastator is huge...he put a pic of it next to G1 devastator and everyone felt some dev envy.
