Beast Wars, Blackarachnia.

Post by Rumble »

Ok, I admit that I am on a bit of a Beast Wars binge right now. Having been reading the sourcebook for the profiles, I decided to re-watch the TV series. This has of course influenced a couple of recent purchases (i.e. Silverbolt). Now the question that I have is this:

Has there been a show accurate figure of Blackarachnia?

I know that the figure released at the time was a re-colour of Tarantulas, and I just can't in good conscience, have Silverbolt rubbing shoulders with that mould. It’s not right.

If there hasn't been a show accurate one, anyone know if there are any plans for one? Maybe in the Universe/Classics 2.0 line?

Any info will be a great help.

I can't believe I thought Cassettes were the way of the future.

The two toys closest to the Beast Wars show model would probably be Universe Blackarachnia (2003) or Animated Blackarachnia (2008). Personally I prefer the animated, because the face and its closer overall. I really don't think they'll ever get a mold much closer than that.

Now another question....

Anyone have a Universe Blackarachnia from 2003 that they can measure the height of in robot mode for me? :D

I dont have the universe one. As for the first "edition" of Black arachnia, there is no recolor as of yet. Im thinking of doing a custom one soon. The transmetal B.A is the best one if you want show accuracy. She has all the right colors, and is only a tad bit taller than Silverbolt. I would say shoot for that one, unless you feel inclined to do a custom.

I always forgot that she goes transmetal 2 in the last 5 episodes. >.< I've always thought that her TM2 toy looks weird.

This is what I was thinking. Only problem is I have about 6 customs on the go already....

Also I am not sure about the Transmetal 2 version, it's just not the body Silverbolt fell in love with!
