Lol, thanks everyone, I missed you all. Hope I don't have to reintroduce myself :lol: Good to see you Ramjet, Megs, Galvy, Rumble, TT, Sideways, and everyone. Its nice to post again friends. Its was a hard year with a lot of change. Unfortunatly I haven't collected much for the last year other than classics, but I'm proud to say I did finish my G1 collection. Complete to the last little accessory. :mrgreen: I see thiers quite a few new members too. I hope I get a chance to meet you all. Looks like I have some catching up to do so I'll get to it.

I only buy complete mint and loose sets. They are cheaper than paying for a mint boxed set!

I'd go for complete if I can.

But then again the only combiner I have is Classics Devastator and Universe Micro-train-bots (Raiden) I'll have Rail Racer soon, which I have bought seperatly because I haven't found them together.
All that was needed is a catalyst... and the machines of war are set in motion.

Well, I picked up G1 Vortex's Glue Gun for $11, including shipping. So for a total cost of $119.50 (all shipping included) I got:

A COMPLETE Bruticus, with all 4 card backs (only 2 w/ specs) all 5 Specs, the Instruction book for Onslaught and Marvel Comics The Transformers #32. And AT LEAST 3 of the 5 combaticons are the metal chest versions.

So... HOW'D I DO? :D

@Niceguy

Depends on the condition of the figure, doesn't it? :P
But sounds like you've done a sweet deal!

Welcome back Thrust.

Cheaper to let your brother buy them off craigs list for you.
Ruination I have(2 different ones) but it is Bruticus I do not have. My brother got three of the figs for him plus a bunch more figs for only $10. I paid that much for Brawl from TFL, thanks again to Trance. Like Jose said the harder to find ones, Vortex is proving to be a more difficult find loose and in decent shape for a decent price. I'm not even too concerned about accessories at this point. Sound like you got a pretty good deal on yours though.

I don't think any would qualify as "C10-mint" or "new" but I'm pretty happy with condition. None had any outright damage and or were too loose to pose w/ no problems. Bruticus goes together nice and is tight and poseable as well. Paint wear was minimal - very comperable to the rest of my collection; which means it looks like someone might have played with them, ~23 years ago, but not too much. (I outgrew mine after a year or two, looks like the same happened with these.) The only parts that were really worn were the stickers. (And let's face it - new looking stickers on a figure from ebay are either replacement stickers anyway or a knockoff figure, right? So stickers that look 23 years old and played with are FINE BY ME. :lol:)

The only thing is that I don't think Vortex and Brawl are the 'metal chest' versions. The other definitely are, but those two... doesn't look like it.

I'll probably go for Menasaur next, the maybe Superion. LOL. And I seriously though I'd be done after completing the 1984-85 series, plus Refletor and Bumper. Oh well. Once a collector, always, I guess. :lol:
