Transformer land link

Post by LD2062 »

Not sure if this is the right category, but it seemed to be the one most associated with site issues.

The database here has been of tremendous help to me. So I have been trying to give credit where its due and have been putting your link in my ebay auctions.

However the code is not working on my sales. Rather than an active link it simply displays the entirety of the code.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Hey there, thanks for that! Can you give me an example?
My guess is that you are using a program that parses the html code, rather than writing all the code yourself. In that case, it may suffice just to write the link in like so:

http://www.transformerland.com

and the program should automatically make it a link. Give it a shot, preview it, and let me know if it works!

I don't use any separate program I use the default page that comes up on Ebay when I click sell. Then I simply copy and paste the text thats in the box on the Transformerland site. I've also simply pasted the address with no code and that doesn't make an active link either. Although I leave the plain address so visitors can enter it on their own.

Is there some option to disable html on the ebay site I may have missed? I don't have trouble making links on non-ebay sites.

I'll pm you a link to one of my sales that has the problem.

OK, I took a look at the code, and it is showing up as:

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.transformerland.com">http://www.transformerland.com</a>
the < and > are the problems...they are ascii codes for < and >, respectively. It should look like this:

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.transformerland.com">http://www.transformerland.com</a>
I can't tell you off the bat why your auction editor is doing this...when you edit the auction, is there a tab for HTML or a radio button for ENABLE HTML or something like this?

I didn't find an option to enable html. But I manually edited it in html and now the code works. Thank you for the help.
