Reissues vs G1's

Post by itsprimetime »

Hey guys, how could you tell the difference between the encore reissues and the g1's if you can't find the production date on the bottom of the Transformer? I just bought a Trailbreaker probably a grade 8.5 complete with accessories (minus one fist) and paid only $33. I've seen other Trailbreakers around this grade go for at least 50. Can anybody help me out??

Additionally, I finally will be posting pictures of my entire collection tomorrow as I just bought Motormaster, Sludge and Sideswipe from here..:)

IMO between the originals and the Encore versions, it's all in the eye of the beholder.
It depends on how much money you want to spend.
And it depends on if you want original or not.
I don't think there is any difference in the make of the Encore compared to it's original counterpart.

For Trailbreaker, and other bots originally having spring loaded arms/missiles, I think they removed the springs on the Encore versions?

I'm not completely sure, but check it out. Someone around here wiser than me will no doubt know for certain!

see if you can find a "made in xx" marking

almost all the 84 and 85 line was made in japan.

All reissues from the 90s to today are made in china.
