Design features that never made it to the final release
Hi guys thought this would be an interesting topic for the G1 figures, anyway here's one to start this topic off; Octane was originally designed to have a waist that slid forward in robot mode so as the chest didn't seem to protrude so much. This feature was cancelled very late in the design phase and if you open up his waist the sliders are there, you just need to cut out the pieces of plastic blocking the track and presto. design feature reinstalled ! I did this to my Octane figure and it is a subtle but helpful mod. If anyone wants pics on how to I can post up
cheers

Drivers, launching missiles, and the full-stroke trailer launcher for '84 prime. Diaclone version's pusher sides the entire length of the black slot.
Instructions for attaching the four '86 gestalt leaders to metroplex.
The fuctioning radio inside blaster. Why do you think he was so big?
Retractable fists on PM prime's trailer part. of course, Japan got these...
Onslaught, Motormaster, and Silverbolt were all supposed to have vehicle launchers. In Onslaught and Motormaster, all those different colored panels on their truck beds are just fillers for the holes that were intended to house the launchers. On Silverbolt, the long slidey thing in his chest was supposed to be spring loaded. I have a KO that is, actually.
'84 Megatron's bullet shooting capability. Again, japan had this...
If that's not enough, there are even MORE in post-G1 toys!

yeah it was when i was reading up about pre tf's that gave me the idea for this post. I think we should put up as many as possible including pre tf's and since we're doing pre tf's the original soundwave-"cassetteman" (part of the microchange series) had a fake headphone set that plugged into the bottom so it seemed like he was a walkman tape player rather than a tape recorder as he seems in transformers.Time Traveller wrote:Drivers, launching missiles, and the full-stroke trailer launcher for '84 prime. well basically as you can see on the last pic instead of the waist being flush with the rest of the back, it is moved forward about a centimetre. it doesn't really change the way it looks unless you have another unaltered version next to it for comparison, it just makes the chest seem flatter is all. I'll post up a pic for you tomorrow
