I was with my gf at the local walmart today, and they were putting up RoTF toys. I did take pics of some of the individual robots.

I bought my pile of guilt. I seriously need a job. Anyway, of those I've opened:

Sideswipe: A++. No ifs ands or buts about it. He's light, but don't let that deceive you. His limbs are sturdy feeling, and his "Mech alive" feature are some rubber crotch muscles. Fantastic!

Rampage: A++. He's actually a quadruped... 4 legs, like a centaur. His jackhammer mode is clever but unnecessary. The rubber tracks are cool. but due to their mounting, they can't turn. oh well. still cool!

Ransack: Transformers. Albatros D.III. Awesome.

Demolishor: still out on this one. Strong build, no doubt, but i'm just not sure on the thing yet. I wish he could move his arms forward.

Sideways: Pretty damn cool as well. my only beef is that he isn't licensed Audi merch. He reminds me a lot of barricade in stance and stature, right down to a spinning wheel-saw blade on his hand.

Depth charge: not really necessary. he's a shellformer, he looks cool in both modes, but still only for the completists.

Leader Prime: I like him. He's cool. But be forewarned: he's not for the faint of heart. I can transform MP megatron faster.

Ooh, this is horrible. I promised the gf I would lay off the new movie figures... Maybe I can sway her to only collect about 20. Lets hope!

Leader Prime is a definite pain. I'm just starting to get the hang of it.

Same here. I only picked up SW though. {BB is not on my want list}

I'm still undecided on prime. I think he's not worth the money at the moment. I may get him when he goes on clearance.

(I have ransack, leader megs and rampage set to arrive next week. I'll then be getting Starscream and demolisher eventually. The others that have been released so far do not interest me.)

Prime is well worth the price.

The first prime was a pain so it only makes sense that this one is worse...right? :?

My Wal-mart had them on the shelves covered by a big black tarp and wouldn't let me even peek at them until midnight Thursday.

So I left and came back an hour later and got Sideways, Deadend, Skids, and Soundwave.

Soundwave: Cool, best displayed in robot mode. seems sturdy.

Skids: Ugly as hell, hell to transform, and he's relly short.

Sideways: my favorite of these four. As TT said reminescant(spelling?) of Barracaide.

Deadend: cool little figure his back engine panel dosn't like to go into place in alt mode. I like his Bio more than anything.

Gonna go back today for some more...and then my mother is going to kill me because I've nearly spent all my money I'm suppose to be saving for a car.
All that was needed is a catalyst... and the machines of war are set in motion.

here's some more of my thoughts.

Dead End: pull that red panel (with the con logo) back all the way on its double hinge, until the red carburetor looking thing is level with the rest of the engine. it should lie down then.

I like him a lot. he has needly teeth in his maw. his transformation's pretty solid, the only detractor is his weird proportions in car mode. his wheels look cool, like something on a newer hot wheels. I honestly can't wait til the nightbeat recolor, but i hope he has a different head... nightbeat doesn't need teeth!

Rollbar: Ah, the red bull truck. his alt mode is dull but realistic, his transformation reminds me of a non-spring loaded BW rattrap, (kinda cool) and his robot mode looks pretty great! these scouts are turning out pretty well overall.

Megatron: I like him much better than the first. his beefy robot mode does much better as a tank than a jet. unlike prime, he DOESN'T announce his name 35 times during transformation. he's much simpler than prime, too, which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are. Also, his Kaiser Wilhelm II arm is awesome. So's the giant claw/sword that can extend out past the barrel of his cannon, but mostly the Wilhelm arm.

Soundwave: leaves something to be desired. I'm not even sure what mode he's in. His jet mode is so close to satellite mode, it'd be like calling bluestreak a triplechanger when his car doors are open. (From robot to sports car to sports car with open doors and back!). Also, he has a missile that's a character. that's the only novel part about him.

Demolishor again: OKAY. He's cool. I want more constructicons and/or unicycles of awesome giant death!

The best part i'm finding so far is, the series has NO reliance on accessories. I have two so far, megatron and soundwave's missiles. I know this will change when i open starscream and ironhide, but right now, i'm relishing in the fact that the series finally realized it don't NEED 35 accessories per to to know how to ROCK!

Seriously, i think the average accs for the first movie was like 7. (Ironhide, Starscream, cybertron wingblade recolor, all the energon-recolor Target scouts... ugh) They need a gallon bag of accessories per medium box of transformers.

Prime is well worth the price.
Not at 45GBP {about $62.50} which is far too much for him.

Found the RoTF-figures at my local TRU earlier this week.
Haven't bought any yet though. But I fear I will... :P

Prices in Norway are as follows:

Legends - $14
Scouts - $19
Deluxes - $30
Voyagers - $44
Leaders .... wait for it ..... $102.

@Rammy: do you see why I don't complain about Tinystator being $48?

Went to TRU to check out what they had yesterday... but I restrained myself to buying just two - Superion and Dirt Boss. Superion was fairly pricey at £28.99 or whatever it was! But I was distracted by all the pretty colours...

Tbh this time around I'm not bothered about remoulds, recolours and characters which aren't even in the goddam film, so it should cost me significantly less than I spent on the first movie figures :o

Ransack and Jetfire look amazing, but they didn't have them :(

Little up date for all you on-the-fences.

ROTF Starscream: HOLY PRIMUS this casting is eons better than the original. he actually looks like a jet instead of a tank! the belly of the jet is tucked up neatly and contoured like the weapons bay of an F-22. he has arms, with hands and elbows. He retains molded-in gatling guns that double as missile launchers (sigh), and he's just not so thick like the first movie SS. plus, his mech-alive actually looks pretty cool. (a bunch of gears in his chest spin when you turn his head). I'm still not sold on all the tattoos. I REALLY hope they do a first-movie-deco of this casting. I'd totally buy it. he has landing gear! (the first one just rode on the giant belly of the plane and the giant missile launchers under the wings)

Breakaway: Idk, his colors are kind of eastery. I like him in a kitschy sort of way. The jet mode is pretty sharp, the robot mode is pretty sharp, the transformation is ok. He also doesn't have stupid launching missiles cluttering up the figure, just a simple thumb-spinning gatling gun on his forearm, and it hides away neatly under body panels in jet mode. The only thing is, his head's a little weird. Go look at some pictures.

I think the constructicons are the clear winners of the ROTF toy line so far. Demolishor, Long Haul, Mixmaster all look incredible.

Good stuff. I'm waiting for Leader prime and the Fallen to arrive. My first Transformers of the movie line.

I was on the fence but this makes me...more away from the fence. I just can't reconcile how overly geometric his torso looks. :?
