Frankenstein's Minicar Monster?

Post by Shrapnel »

I recently found an odd little minicar at a thrift shop...

The main body is that of Bumblebee but the legs are those of Hubcap (or yellow Cliffjumper). The head is Bumblebee's but the sticker applied to the back of the head is Cliffjumper's. The figure has a Bumblebee arm on the left and a Hubcap/Cliffjumper arm on the right. This right arm prevents the car from being fully transformed into a robot as the extension beyond the rear wheel gets stuck within the Bumblebee body.

This could be the result of some kid's experimentation, but the factory-applied Cliffjumper sticker on the Bumblebee head makes me think otherwise.

I was just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this?

Firstly, welcome insecticon. Which one tho!! I am Megatron leader of the decepticons here and 1 of the administrators. In answer to your question I think you are correct in saying that it is a kids experiment. Albeit a good one, altho Jose and TT might have a better idea.

If someone can suggest a good free photo hosting site, I could post a pic.

Hey there insecticon.

http://tinypic.com/ is pretty decent for pic-hosting, I've found.

It sounds to me like a kitbash. Labels can be reassigned, not to mention there are reprolabels available.

Other possibility is that the rear head plate is Cliffjumper's, and the face is Bumblebee. They are two parts and they are joined by two pegs on the plate.

Now, a picture would be much appreciated, just out of curiosity.

Thanks Delita-1 for posting the pics!

Thanks bagales for the info about the head. I never looked at it that closely and didn't know that the face and the plate were two separate pieces.

Whether he's a kitbash or not, this little mutant Bumblebee with one useless arm will have special place in my collection.
