Box Question

Post by LD2062 »

I don't collect boxes. Nor do I normally sell them. But I've been working out a trade with someone who also has a pile of empty boxes from armada, energon and some universe.

My question is whether having the box would add any value to my sale items from those series.

Both for a large item like Unicron or a small item like starscream. If so how much?

They also said they have a G1 trypticon box with foam. I think 1 other g1 box too.

Is anyone here interested in any of the boxes? I'll try to get a list of which specific ones there are.

For G1, yes...for post-G1, if the boxes/cards have the inner packaging, they may add 10-25%, otherwise not really anything much :(

Depending on what the buyer is after, having the whole package, so to speak, to offer, could mean you make a sale and the next guy who only has the figure doesn't.

I may be superstitious, but getting newer figures carded or boxed makes me feel the toys have been taken care of and possibly come from a likeminded collector.

I can't give a % but I would think that having the whole package is more attractive. I know that I always take a look at stuff when everything is included. Now, I usually don't have the $$ to buy it :D .

Packaging is a must for me. Those g1 boxes and bubbles go for quite a bit on Ebay. There's one guy making those damn inner bubbles for g1 characters and selling them now.

Bubble inserts are the hardest to find because kids like me just used to just rip them open!

I also love the artwork on the boxes. Hasbro really did a perfect job on those. They are absolutely beautifull.
