Seen it this morning at 12:01AM. I really like it even thou some of the parts of the movie just kinda left you hanging. You can tell they tried too pack alot more TF's and people in this one. I give the CGI and effects a A+ and the story line and plot a B......This is better than the first one, let's just hope they keep getting better.

Just seen it. Mixed feelings as I guessed. Great action mixed with unnecessary side plots.

Prime was great!

Unnecessary? UNNECESSARY? How DARE you! All those scenes in Shanghai, Egypt, etc etc et al are ABSOLUTELY necessary.

How else can everyone involved line their kitty litter boxes with $100 bills if they don't fabricate a truly global tie-in?

Now, excuse me while I go off in search of the meme of the "That's Racist!" kid. I'll be needing it shortly.

Just got back from seeing the movie. I thought it was filled with excellent action and some truly funny moments. I loved how they incorporated some tf lore into it, but I think they packed a little too much lore for one movie.

Overall, great flic though. Will be getting this on DVD (and bluray if I can ever afford that route).

Saw it tonight. One question may be a spoiler, but I dont think so but here goes it. Wow. Way better than I had expected it to be. I went in with low expectations cause of some of the stuff I inadvertenly read. Jetfire, AWESOME! I dont know who the blue car was that just showed up, but I was blown away by an awesome movie.

I saw it on monday but have been too lazy to post any thoughts. Hmmm I have mixed feelings on the movie.

Optimus Prime however was BADASS, wow! Then again, all Peter Cullen Primes are a cut above the others 8)

Anyway, I posted the below in the other thread but wanted to put it here for how fantastic the coincidence was

So the theater I saw it at was in Times Square. There's a few quick scenes in the movie shot in times square so that was pretty cool, but when I left the theater, I'm walking down the street and rolling out from the corner is this peterbilt 379, aka Optimus Prime himself!!! To see that literally 10 min after the movie ended, in a real-life location that was briefly seen in the movie, was just so kick ass

Thanks ironhide. The car just kind of showed up towards the end or I just completely missed it. Mudflap and Skids were pretty funny.

Saw it.

It was somewhat better than the first.

Too many testicle jokes.

Borderline racist with some of the bots... even put Lucas to shame.

Whatever reviewer that said there was too much Robots and too little Sam & Diane needs to go see Transformers 2.

saw it today,

it's packed with enough robot action to keep you sweet for a couple of hours, and they added some foggy plot lines for flavor, topped off with some romance chips

third time could be the charm perhaps?

Here we go...

Someone that says it just sarcastically enough that I might have said it myself. ;)

Still, as I said earlier, it ended up being better than the first.

UM that was a local Jacksonville Fl. newspaper critic. My family here said they don't like what he says most of the time anyway.
Epic movie was epic. Prime is wicked awesome. Jetfire was excellent as well. Jolt, the blue car, was in a bunch of scenes but as i recall no speaking parts.
I'm not sure about letting my daughter(she's 6) see this one though. Like UM said too many suggestive lines or blatant sexual references.

i disagree it being better, the first one has seemingly to me a better coherent storyline

I read that review after the movie and found it to be spot on.
Revenge of the Fallen isn't a good movie, and because of all the unneccesary bi-plot, red herrings, dumb jokes etc, it isn't even a good robot-movie...
Thank God for the twins, they actually amused me alot!

And I agree with Kup the first movie is better.
It had more coherent action (by no means perfect but way better) and tension was built up until finally the bots revealed themselves in all their glory; I mean the way the Autobots land on earth was EPIC.
The fights were better too. In RotF the only bots that do any fighting are Optimus and Bumblebee, and they do it to a degree the Decepticons are becoming just puppets. Sad.

Bay needs to understand sometimes less is more, but I doubt he will.

I see it as better than the first for a few (very few) reasons.

Every plot hole you may point out in this one has an equally present, if not larger plot hole in the first.

The humor, though tamer for the most part, was far more forced in the first one.

At least I don't have to wait an entire hour to see a robot versus robot fight in the new one... and when I do get to see that first robot versus robot fight, it is not interrupted for the comic relief fight. There is more action throughout, in other words.

I still say both rely way too heavily on the cgi and the "ten bajillion moving parts at any given time" and explosions instead of plot. A lot more could have done with simpler robot designs and less complex graphics. I will be the first to admit that in a lot of the fight scenes I couldn't tell what the heck was going on.

I was told repeatedly, that I was being to harsh on the first one, and needed to enjoy it as an action flick... but the action was too little/spread out for that. Then that argument gets shot down with the reminder that it was an "origin piece." Of course, they only spent a total of about fifteen minutes of the two hours and forty-five minutes telling any background, so that argument falls flat as well.

This second piece has the action spread evenly throughout, so if I need to turn my brain off to enjoy it in the slightest, it is more watchable than the original.

This new film is what happens when the flaws of the first one get glossed over because it was a "popcorn flick" or an "origin piece." It is a lot and more of the same, just paced a little better. That little bit of pacing makes it (as I stated previously) marginally better than the original.
