Sunstorm reissue question.

Hello. I've been seeing what I believe are different versions of the sunstorm, decepticon jet, reissue figure. They've been priced anywhere from $65 to $400. What version should I be looking for? I see small differences in the packaging. Any ideas?

The more expensive e-hobby version is in scale with the original seekers. The cheaper 60 or so dollar one is a small version of the jet. Recently, all of the seekers were re-released in smaller form. Dont get fooled by that. It would be an expensive mistake!

When you say "smaller" what do you mean? Are you talking about something *other* than the WST sized seekers?

Its halfway in between the WST and the standard sized seekers. They are or were all over ebay selling for cheap. I almost bought the set, but I realized how small they were. I think they're a tad bit larger than the aerial bots excluding silverbolt. Its cool that they all come in a lot, or you can go separate, but unless you want starscream's little cousin, I wouldn't go for them.

You're flat out wrong. There are TWO E-Hobby Sunstorms. The "original" should set you back between $120-160, or so. $400 seems ludicrous, not sure where he saw it selling for that much.

E-Hobby has recently re-issued Sunstorm. These can be had for about $60.00. THEY ARE FULL SIZED.

The "slightly larger than WST" sized fakes you're referring to should be selling for MUCH less than $60. Around $15-20 each, iirc.

For identification purposes, junction, the re-issue Sunstorm has "collector's edition" in the top left, and "Takara Tomy" in the top right. The original E-hobby has "collector's edition" in the top right, and no Takara Tomy logo. Toy wise, from what I've read, they're virtually indistinguishable. But I don't have an original E-hobby to compare to.

Well thank you for that information. I was completely un-aware of a reissue by e-hobby. I guess cause they look so close, I didn't realize I probably saw one and didn't think about it. Now my interest is peaked in them.

ok. first off, thanks for the help. the reaon i was confused was that i was browsing ebay and saw the sunstorm reissues side by side. i think one was from a seller in the uk and the other was from china. like i said in the original post, all's i could see was the packaging. i wasn't sure if it was just the way the photo was taken, but the corners of the package were on different sides. so basically without holding them in my hands i had no idea what was what. so i take it the e-hobby was the original? now what i'm seeing more often is a takara re-issue of the e-hobby version?? sorry to sound so confused- i want to make sure i make a good purchase! also, that 3-400 dollar one i saw was on bbts. i'm not sure what that's all about either. i like re-issues but not that much. thanks again!!!

Essentially, yes. Though, they're both made by Takara. The original E-hobby was exclusive to E-hobby... and then TakaraTomy re-released it to a wider market. I wish they'd do that with MORE of the E-hobby exclusives!

If you're in the market for one, you can't go wrong with tfsource.com. The reissue is on sale there for $60.00

BBTS is occassionally on crack when they price things, lol! The original shouldn't be more than $150 or so.

once again, thanks for the advice. i ended up finding a seller on ebay. i paid $40 plus about $18 for shipping. i figure i saved at least $10-15! thanks for the help, i'm looking forward to the arrival of mr. sunstorm!
