OOC: I meant cam's ground-based office, but this works
Cambreaker welcomes Ripwing in. He demands an explanation, and Ripwing provides.
Ripwing, I think our disconnect here is this: Starblast is a great asset to the Decepticons, what Decepticons are left. That is bad enough news for us, especially considering Starblast's power. My thought is, though, that today we left a team member and friend behind. I appreciate that you came immediately to Iacon upon receipt of the attack notice, but at the same time we cannot abandon other comrades so easily.
I think you need to take your team and find him, to make him safe from the Decepticons, and from himself. This time, if you're outgunned, CALL for support. You may not be so lucky to have Dinobot patrolling nearby.
With that, Cam sends Ripwing to gather the remaining Crusaders and try again. Cam slumps in his seat, feeling bad for having lost or nearly lost two friends today. The triumph of the missing Decepticons seems hollower and hollower. It is time for a much needed recharge...
Cambreaker proceeds solemnly to his medical suite off his quarters and steps into the CR, shutting down into a stasis-suspend repair mode.
OOC: Gone for the week, don't crash the ship or something! Minerva is your C.O. while I'm out.
Cambreaker awakes from his long stasis, and paces about his quarters, before heading down the corridor. Unable to even remember how he had gotten back to the 'Spite, he sees a priority landing request coming from the Maus. He heads to a wall console and keys it up. The Maus, sporting four new experimental sublight engines, is blasting toward the shuttle bay at top clip. Followed by...
By Primus. What is his hurry? Oh no. Blackjack!
Cambreaker remotely opens the shuttle bay doors using his Captain's code on the wall terminal. He keeps an optic on the visual inset, seeing the Maus's thick exhaust trails and the.... No. It can't be. It's not poss....
It finally registers as a possible reality. Cambreaker magnifies the visual, turning the optical telescope array mounted on the aft bridge of the ship on the antiquated craft following the Maus. As the image resolves, Cambreaker's heavy jaw drops. He activates his internal computer aloud, still staring agape at the screen.
Diagnostic mode. Re-activate optic sensors. Test visual acuity.
His optics dim briefly and resume glowing, pinpoints of blue shining through his optic lenses. He looks closer at the image on the screen. The blue and gold craft with the distinctive protective plates on each flank, the pilot looking exactly like the craft... and his face exactly like the Autobot symbol. Unmistakable. The ship must transform into a being nearly twice as tall as Cambreaker's natural size.
The Last Autobot.... The one true legend... Primus help us that he is not as false as the Matrix! But perhaps this is all a dream...
Cambreaker runs down the hall toward the turbolift, transforming and landing with all eight wheels on the floor. He makes for the shuttle bay, as its huge armored door slides open.
Sideways pulls back on the throttle as the Maus slows down dramatically, making it's way into the hangar. As it pulls in, the sublight engines retract into the fuselage and the repulsorlifts take over, guiding the freighter to an open spot. The small freighter makes a quick landing and the bay door hisses open.
The doors open and Minerva and Swift prepare to move Blackjack to the ‘Spite's medbay. Blackjack, we’re here. Swift and I are going to transfer you to the medbay now.
As they exit into the shuttle bay, Minerva is both surprised and relieved to see Cambreaker enter as well.
As they arrive, Minerva prepares Blackjacks repairs, glad that she’d taken the time to repair the medbay itself as it would make the job much easier. She turns to Blackjack. He had not moved or said anything since they were on the Maus. She could tell he was still online, but getting weaker. We’re in the medbay now. I’m going to put you in stasis sleep while I make the repairs.
Minerva thinks she can see a small nod of acknowledgement.
Hang in there Blackjack, she thinks to herself before connecting him to and activating the medical equipment, which carefully eases him into stasis sleep. His status, which is picked up through the connection, is displayed on the monitors along with his vital signs.
She’d been right about his condition: stable but weak.
Minerva looks away from the monitors and finds Swift standing nearby, apparently not sure of what to do. Thanks for helping me out Swift, I’ll take it from here. You can leave now if you want to.
Cambreaker arrives in the shuttle bay just as Minerva and Swift are rushing Blackjack away on a hoverstretcher. He sighs in relief to know the three friends are each in good care of the others. Just then, the large, strange transformer craft puts down gently next to the Maus. Cambreaker looks on in wonder, almost reverent of the strange ship...
Sideways and Rev exit from their craft. Both Autobots leave the dock, Sideways pulling out his famaliar black datapad/remote that Minerva had returned to him on the ride back to the 'Spite.
He turns it on and it syncs up with the Maus. After a couple of minutes, the display reads that the synchronization has completed successfully. He pushes another button and flips a keyboard out from under the device. He inputs a series of commands and puts it away as the bay door hisses close and the ship enters standby mode.
As the other Bots begin to enter the 'Spite, The Last Autobot's holographic
projection crackles and fizzles as it follows them into the ship. He sees a new, large Bot standing there. He walks over to him.
Swift watches silently as Minerva finishes Blackjacks repairs and begins to wake him up from the stasis sleep.
Disconnecting the last of the medical equipment, Minerva takes a step back and waits for Blackjacks systems to acknowledge the repairs and reboot.
She turns to Swift. The repairs were a success. He should be ready to wake up any klik now.
Swift looks relieved and Minerva smiles at her, realizing that the repairs had taken a lot out of her own energy reserves. The internal damages had been more extensive then she’d first thought, but nothing she hadn’t been able to fix. Right now she was looking forward to get some energon and hopefully a nice long recharge, to allow her self repair systems to do their job undisturbed, as she hadn’t completely recovered from the explosion yet herself.
Her thoughts are interrupted by movements in the corner of her optic, and they both turn their attention to the now online Blackjack.
The Last Autobot.... Cambreaker mumbles as the ancient titan approaches and addresses him. Even as the mystical Autobot's very presence sends strength coursing through Cam's circuits, his knees hinges feel as weak as a playworn ball joint. Cam stoops to one knee... This sort of deifically infused aura he had never felt in the presence of that corrupted matrix. THIS power had a mind and presence all its own, the power to discern between good and evil, rather than bring power to any wielder.
Cam thought deeper about his actions, and, realizing his intentions and choices had thus far been pure, he felt more confident in the presence of this avatar. As the Last Autobot came to stand over him, he sounded off as though to the presiding member of the senate, come upon a personal visit.
I am Cambreaker, commander of the remaining Autobot forces. I do not know what dreams have awoken you after these millions of cycles, but I recognize that Decepticon danger still lurks throughout the galaxy. I will do what you need me to in order to squelch this threat once and for all. I am in... your service.
"Looking up at the femme medic, Swift just smiles in response. Being such a small femme, Swift sighs at the fact she isn't much help. She coudln't defend her comrades, let alone even land a shot at Galvatron if she had the chance. Looking down at her feet she heads out the door to her own coriders.* "Glad he's okay Minerva. If..anyone needs me, I'll be in my room." *Sighing sadly, the small femme makes her way down the hall towards her personal quaters, locking the door behind her. Settling down onto the recharge berth, she flops facefirst down on it. Suddenly, an idea comes across her mind. She recalled Goldbug being small, then upgrading his chassis to a bigger, more stronger one. What if...she was able to do the same? Her mind swarmed instantly on how and if she could do it, as she slowly fell into stasis.*
Well, I'd like to know what exactly it is that we're facing first.
Cambreaker tells the holograph what's been going on and catches him up to speed.
Right then. First and foremost, we need to find out what those missing Decepticons are up to. I'd suggest we send out search parties and see if they come back with any new information.
I've had scout parties scouring the planet for cycles. One party found some NEW trouble, and managed to have one of their members kidnapped... They're currently on search and retrieve. Perhaps if they do bring Starblast back, you could use your power to undo any 'Con reprogramming.
Like I said, Galvatron detonated himself back in Iacon. This still leaves a couple unaccounted for, but my main concern is what the Decepticons on earth are planning with, no doubt, the assistance of those CPU-dead ingrateful humans.
Do you wish to stay with us, or strike out on your own? I can arrange quarters for you both here and on the ground if you should like. We are more than happy to accommodate a warrior of your stature and significance, it is truly an honor...
Sideways recieves a comms from Rev, who has returned to the Maus to give it a look over. He alerts Sideways that a distress signal was recieved from Cybertron, situated from the ruins of Iacon. Sideways opens a comm to Cambreaker to relay the news.
Cammy, Rev picked up a distress signal from the ruins of Iacon not too long ago. I coulda sworn he heard "Iacon - explosions. It came from an Autobot frequency - I'm going down there to investigate.
Sideways transforms into vehicle mode and speeds off towards the hangar.
The choice is yours, friend. I certainly could use the help.
Sideways speeds through the wide hallways of the 'spite, sliding around corners as he launches himself into the hangar, transforming and landing on one knee in a spectacular show. Rev laughs as he watches his friend get up from his stunt.
That looked like it hurt.
I'll be feeling that later. The signal - Can you attempt to triangulate a location? It'll make our search much easier.
Eh, I can try, but I can't guarantee anything.
We'll worry about that later. Let's get back to Iacon.
Sideways pulls the remote device from a storage compartment and opens the cargo door. Both robots enter the freighter and head for the cockpit.
Uh, Sideways, how are we gonna get out of the hangar with the bay doors closed?
Check this out.
Sideways pulls his remote out and inputs a series of commands. The device seems to hang for several cycles before coming back online. Sideways then searches for the hangar bay door controls. Finding them, he imputs a code. Miraculously, the doors begin to open.
... How did you manage to pull that little stunt off?
That's my little secret. Let's go.
Sideways brings the freighter online and makes his way out of the hanger, the doors closing behing them. Once outside, he pushes a button and pulls a throttle lever, activating the Sub-Orbital mode as the freighter blasts back towards Cybertron.
The thrusters on the rear of The Last Autobot's alt mode flare violently before the craft begins to move. Then, it too speeds towards Cybertron and Iacon chasing after The Maus.
Cambreaker sees the two huge ships depart for their mission, then heads to the medbay where Minerva has just woken a still groggy Blackjack.
I don't know why you call yourself a nurse or medic, Minerva, you're a damn miracle worker... or doctor at least. Remind me to change your status in the computer.
