This is kind of off topic but does anyone know if the missile launchers from G1 Skywarp fit the holes on the wings of the MP Skywarp? I know MP is meant more as a display piece but I am a little disappointed that the missiles dont launch.

^Yes, it does work. I'm too lazy to take a pic but the fit is snug and will suit your purposes. Though you may want to get launchers from a reissue G1 skywarp (not sure if they even "launch") as the original G1s don't really launch the missile...they just let it come out a little.

That depends... I've got a few that launch. I think only the early runs, maybe?

The fetches this month:

Energon Cruellock for $USD 2.6 - price is ok, but Cruellock is somehow less than my expectation.......
Universe Ratbat + Universe 2.0 Tankor for $USD 11.5 - both are good looking TFs yet I have to find the instructions to tranform them.......

AND
Image
for $USD 11.5. I have no idea on the pricing, but at least it is cheaper than getting them 1 by 1.

As last month I have gotten this
Image
for $USD 1.3  , I need 1 more Energon basic combiner to construct the Constructicon-Superion-Bruticus hybid (May be the forecoming FansProject Brtuicus add-on kits will make some cheap Brtuicus limbs available to me  ).....I think this is more funny than getting same moulds as the hands and legs.

I reckon it's more a matter of luck. For an "early run", we could think we are talking about the very first semester of production in 1984; therefore it would be logical to find all later figures with no launching capacities at all, even if they are Diaclone/Microchange toys converted to Transformers, including then, all 1985 characters, and any 1984 figure, but with a rubsign (or another feature which may give you a clue to associate it to certain time span). However; I have a G1 Hoist, well playworn, which can shoot from its wrists, and a G1 Prime, with the later trailer (no metal bits), which also can shoot the missiles.

Also for the sake of factual things, I have a black Diaclone Ironhide which can't shoot at all, and it's in reasonable good condition, and also a black Diaclone Trailbreaker which has been well loved, and shoots real hard.

My belief is that all G1 "Transformers", that means, those which were supposed to be made inoffensive, may have had the shooting ability at some point, but certainly less powered than their early pre-TFs counterparts. However, the life the toy had must have had influence in the present condition of the launchers. Said this, I am prone to believe that the playworn figures must haven't had the missiles in place, instead they were used "firing" them, eventually the accessories got lost and the launchers rested unloaded, with the spring making no further efforts. On the other hand, those which have been preserved in good condition must have been standing on a display shelf, complete, and hence with the spring action stressed, and they may have lost their elastic capacity with age.

So with that said if I do get a set that do not launch, is there a way to open them and replace the spring? If so can I use a spring from a pen? If not where should I look for one at?

In theory you could replace it, but it's all left to trial and error in this matter.

As the *hopefully* final addendum to our sidetrack, and Jose's excellent description, I'd just like to make it entirely clear that at some undefinable point in production, all launchers WERE disabled. Meaning that, fresh out of the package, in the 80s, they did not fire, but merely held the missile in place. Stupid toy laws.

Yeah, and through to about Cybertron, you'd be hard pressed to find a transformer that DIDN'T come with a launcher, even if it's inclusion compromised other design or aesthetic aspects of the toy.

I finally found a Diaclone Devastator..sort of....it is a very good KO version from Taiwan. It looks almost exactly like the real one. Same colors and quality. I've purchased one other Taiwan KO...LioKaiser. The quality of this KO is very solid. In some ways it seems to be more sturdy that the real Hasbro versions. The KO has diecast metal just like the real Hasbro ones.

Also...there is one major difference as you will see in the pics. The breast wing plate has a slot to secure it to the body instead of the peg on the Hasbro versions. I like this feature better, b/c it holds more securely and actually helps make the figure more steady.

And now...here is a group shot of my green G1 original Hasbro version, my two color Hasbro G2 versions and the Diaclone KO version:

***Note: Yes I know that the crane truck's legs are not transformed properly, but these figures are like brand new and very tight joints. It would not budge at time of pic. Didn't want to force it and possibly break the legs off!

I just did a search for "Diaclone Devastator" on Ebay and it popped up next to a real version one. (The real one is selling for $1200 bucks! Crazy!) Needless to say I went for the KO cheaper priced one. It's almost exactly identical. I'm really happy with it! :D

Dez I have seen a review or two of PE-01 and he looks pretty awesome. Neat figure to have.

Hey, SentinelPrime - that KO Devestator looks real nice. I might look into that - considering how much the real one goes for! Can you PM me any details on your KO Liokaiser? I have been looking for one for a while!

Very nice Dez! I've got the Alto custom Messiah.

http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg18 ... 2/macross/

I love that they include both a full set of stickers and a full set of decals.

Edit: HUGE Craigs list score!

A guy near me was clearing out a TON of complete Cybertron stuff. I got a box full!

leader: Optimus, megatron
supreme: starscream
ultra: scourge, jetfire
voyager: leobreaker,, crumplezone
Deluxe: override, sideways, ladmine, red alert.

I got everything but his scout class ones.

Sadly the other guy near me with the G1 lot sold out before I could get them.

I picked up 2 more NEST figures today. Armorhide and Mudflap. While Armorhide is cool, Mudflap is MUCH cooler as an ice cream twin. Oh well at least now I can get my special edition Ravage. Anyone got one yet?

They don't ship til sometime this late spring/early summer.

The lack of accessories for Red Giest is a minor problem. It won't take me long to whip up a custom tail/weapon and a chest plate.
