I built one out of broken Transformer parts about 5 years ago. It was terrible, since I had NO idea how to use a dremel, mold parts, etc. It was basically just a horrible, horrible cut & paste & screw job.
To assist your googling for people with FAR better customization skills than mine, youll want to look for "Autobot X" customs, since that was his name.

Nice find, IDontThinkSoTim!
So here's a challenge, people--who can figure out what pieces the custom Autobot X is made out of?
By the kitbasher's own admission, not all of the materials came from Transformers figures, but some of them did: The maker mentioned Masterpiece Optimus Prime's hand, and i'm pretty sure Autobot X's right upper arm and the yellow post on the top of his left shoulder are pieces of an Armada Overload.
Anybody recognize other parts?
i think i also remember once seeing a custom Autobot X built approximately to scale with G1 figures, since it was made from parts of G1 figures, but i'm too lazy to go look for it right now. Besides, if it was on eBay, it'd be long gone by now.
Here's a question: Has anyone ever tried to make a robot (transforming or otherwise) out of pieces of their broken Transformers, but not trying to make it like Autobot X? (Seems to me like it'd be easier to make one that doesn't look like Autobot X than to make one that does, but what kind of backstory could you give it? "Autobot Y vs. Decepticon Z!")
Hmm, i wonder if a good Junkion could be made from broken Transformer pieces...

One shall stand; one shall fall; and the one who stands shall help the one who falls to stand once again.

You might also look for "Autobot Spike", which is the title of the G1 episode in which Autobot X appeared.Banzai-Tron wrote:To assist your googling for people with FAR better customization skills than mine, youll want to look for "Autobot X" customs, since that was his name.
