Nice hauls, Niceguy! I always loved Predaking. I remember piecing mine together as a kid. Unfortunately, I didn't have any of the small weapons until I started shopping with TFL. I still have to get a nice label set for mine, too!

And today, the mighty TRYPTICON thundered in...

...and settled down:

Admittedly I was not as geeked about the figure as I was when Predaking arrived. See... I'm kind of prejudiced
against Transformers that don't actually have a true robot mode, but I've gotta say, this guy is still pretty sweet:
100% Complete, all the electronics still work and only as much wear as might suggest his age - but pretty much near
mint, conservatively.

And all for just $235, including shipping! I AM pretty geeked about the DEAL I got.

I seriously don't know what this guy did wrong. He listed it on eBay for $210 (starting) for 7 days. I watched it the whole week: no bids, and no other WATCHERS! And yet? Other Trypticons that week were selling for over $300, some of which were MISSING PARTS! So I just watched it until the closing seconds, and placed the only bid he got the entire time for it: $210 plus $25 shipping. (I bid higher, of course, but that was all I had to pay.)

Still no idea why no one could seem to find it, or why no one was interested. I found it, after all, and I recognized it for what it was. I don't know. I just got really lucky on it. 8)

Thank you sir, more are still on the way LOL. For the most part most of the g1's are in really nice shape, some are just missing some accessories that I need to track down. The Trailbreaker actually needed a repair when I got it. In the auction listing it never mentioned, nor could it be seen, that he was missing a right front wheel and axle. The seller never even noticed! He's in way to nice of shape to return so I told the seller I could probably fix him. Luckily I have a junk Optimus laying around that made a good donor. Got him all fixex up no problem. AND, he's my first salvage/repair whatever you wanna call it LOL.

Nice! 8) I just sold one of those (100% complete) about a month ago. Replacing it with the Generations version....which I'm sure has much tighter shoulder joints.

Man you ain't kiddin about those shoulder joints  . I got a genereations one so I picked this guy up to go with. I like to have the originals to go with the current versions. Just need to track down this guys arsenal. I really want to pick up one of your name sakes, but they're a bit pricey for my blood right now.

I actually just sold off my G1 Roadbuster here recently as well, 100% complete and MIB with bubble/insert. It went for a lot of money and I was able to buy all 3 Masterpiece Coneheads (iGear) from the profits. I still have all the G1's that appeared in the cartoon ('84-'87) but I got rid of all my non-show characters here recently, including the Omnibots.

Just left Singapore where I picked up a new YOTH series OP from Toys r us. Yes those are world wide apparently ;-). Just looking at the TRU PLATINUM EDITIONS thread. Mine was about $100 with the exchange rate.

I'm pretty much on the same page with you collecting wise then. I want a nice representation of all the original cartoon figures, especially the ones in the 3 episode "more than meets the eye" pilot. Now if you ask my son what we should have, he'll tell you all of them LMAO. I picked the Whirl up simply because the price was right and he's pretty cool looking. Much the same reasons for wanting a Roadbuster. I will say tho that there's definitely guys that won't make the collection, unless they come in at a redonkulously low price.

Not Transformers related, but I had 2 of these 6" Star Wars: Black Series, Storm Troopers come in yesterday. Now that I've assembled a small squad, I think I can finally relax and stop troop building. Really loving this line!!!

Arrived today:

Really cool. Not as pimped about him as I was Predaking, but I'm really diggin' this guy. I paid a little more than I wanted to ($110, with shipping) but he is in really sweet condition - tight (snapping!) joints, PERFECT Chrome and Rubber Tires... Can't complain at all really. He's missing most of his decals, but that's OK... all along I had planned on re-doing my (eventual) Metroplex with the UPGRADE KITS (X5, X10 and X11) from Reprolabels.com. So... saves me the trouble of removing to old ones. I'll post a video or some before and afters or SOMETHIHG when I get aroudn to actually DOING that upgrade. (I'm on the fence about tryping out my Trickticon as well with kits X9 and X15.)

The three extra guys - six gun (who has either 5 or 7 depending on how you count them), Scamper and Slammer - are kind of superfluous. (Afterthoughts, really, IMHO.) But Trypticon had his minions, so I guess 'Plex needed some as well. But no matter what mode you're in, there's extra pieces! Gah! And I almost feel like I should pick another one (or two) of Metroplex main guns - you know the ones that hold (2 of the 3) Rockets, but also make up Sixgun's LEGS?!

How lame is that? You're a giant city-turned-robot stomping into battle and you have to look down at the BETTER of your three sidkeicks and say, "Um... Buddy? Hey, this is a bit awkward, but could borrow one of your LEGS for a second? I need to shoot something with it!"

At least I can store his missiles in the garage there, while Scampers' out and about anyway. When he's IN, I have nowhere to put either the missiles (unless Sixgun is down for the count, and doesn't need his LEGS) -OR- Scamper's TINY@$$ "gun!" Somehow the garage won't fit the car, arms on top, AND that nearly microscopic gun - the smallness of which making it easy lose but doing nothing for finding a decent place to actually store it!

*rant over* :D All and all, I am really happy with him. Not quite as big as I expected - though almost precisely the same height as Trypitcion - but I think I tend to get him and Fort-Max mixed up in my head at times. But he's still really cool. And he's going to look SWEET when I done with the new decals.

Nice! I picked up a pretty sweet G1 Metroplex (MIB, 100%, unused decals, exc..) from TFL a few years back for around $115 as well. Trance has some pretty good deals from time-to-time and I was lucky enough to jump on that one! :D
