Thanks Arcee - looking forward to immortalising you and RP soon
And thanks Hot-Shot - regardless of whether RP chooses those pics, I've saved them and may well use them myself for future pics
EDIT:
I got to finishing the sketch stage for Dinobot's pic this morning. There are still some parts like broken wing parts, fire/energy around Sunstorm that can't be seen - these will be added later as the paint goes on
For me, the original pic showed Sunny and Jetfire too equal in size, so Jetfire is larger in my version to capture their size difference more accurately. The next lengthy stage is adding the first of the black ink/paint to define the sketch, then it will be onto some colour...
Right, I'm onto stage one of the black ink. It really brings the picture to life, especially as I've been able to add a lot of the metal damage markings that will make it to the final finished product. So far, I've just outlined Sunny and Jetfire's adjoining arm, and I'll do the rest of Jetfire tomorrow;
You are doing a great job Sunstorm, especially since your character is getting battered in the drawing. I could never draw Megatron getting battered by anyone.
Meh, I can handle Sunstorm getting beat - cos' deep down, I know it couldn't happen I mean, honestly? Jetfire taking down Sunstorm after how he took care of Omega? I think the writers had a temporary case of insanity during the Jet/Sunny fight
I firmly believe that Starscream alone is the only one who could really hurt Sunstorm - I think even our faithful commander may have trouble making a dent in his orange and yellow butt

You really should give it a go, nightshade - your work I've seen so far has been awesome and more than worthy of a canvas. The only problem with canvas is it's damn hard to find one that hasn't sagged or dented, then, when you find a decent one, during the sketching process, leaning on the canvas can cause the same effect and often it's too late when you realise it. I'd recommend a decent wooden board behind where you're working to stop this happening
What have you been using up until now? Just paper, or card, or...?

I've done some canvas work, and mostly i get the pre made canvas boards, but i have used traditional canvas to. Lately all my stuff has been on regular paper so i could scan it onto my computer when done.
sig art comes from the Charticon Print I colored. Line art is by Brian Shearer, inks by John Wycough and colors by me

Right, I'm pretty much done with the black - my black pen is very thin, so the larger areas have had a black pre-wash using a watercolour black pencil, hence a slight difference in the overall black. This lighter black will be made stronger in places using acrylic when I start applying the actual colour... I've now got the colour stages to do. I might start that tonight if I'm feeling adventurous...
EDIT: If anyone wants this 'Con symbol pic below, I'm adding it to my sales list of TF's, it all helps . PM me with an offer and it's yours
I've added the first two colours onto Sunstorm now, a base yellow and orange, just like I did with my own first one. The shading and highlingthing will follow after. I've also darkened some of the earlier black with a fat marker pen and it looks much better in the lower leg areas now. The colouring helps to see that Sunny is giving Jetfire a good 'ol knee in the face
EDIT: I've finished the shading/highlighting I'm doing on the yellow/orange of Sunstorm, and tomorrow I'm going to move onto the face, feet and forearms/hands. It's really standing out well now;
I decided to just get on and finish Sunstorm today. I've just got Jetfire to do now, then to capture the electricity/radiation around Sunny when he's done and do the background. I've used UV paint on Sunny's eyes and will use it for the radiation. When that's all done, I'll do a UV light shot. Here it is for now;
(I hope you don't mind the odd consecutive post as I like to take progress pictures and post them as I go... if I should be editing my posts, sorry )
OK, I've started work on Jetfire with the base red on the parts in question, and I've added his autobot symbol to his chest now too. I missed out on painting Sunny's torn off null ray when I was using the colours I've mixed for him, so I'm having to mix those colours again in small amounts . I've taken a couple of UV highlights photos on Sunstorms eyes and a shine highlight on his leg... I'm planning on some more UV stuff on Jetfire's eyes too, as well the radiation around Sunny which I'll complete when Jetfire is done... Not too far to go now!
