I wasn't sold on the idea off Grimlock until we received the 1986 movie today from Amazon. They saw the dinobots, and no longer like the live action movie!!!

According to my oldest, if they knew dinobots were around, and didn't put them in the movie, then the writers (his words were the people that made the movie) were STOOPID!!!

How do you like Grimlock UM, I liked him except for his legs.

I have the botcon set if anyone wants pics. It has Bugbite, Dreadwind, Thundercracker, Dirge, and Thrust. :D

Well, the tranformation was not as hard as I thought it would be. Still wouldn't trust him in the hands of my youngest, though. ;) The overall design is solid, and th weapons are a cloce enough representation to the G1 that it does not take away from the fig (unlike the Rodimus where the weapon is just sort of blah).

My two criticisms are:

a) the tail does not stay in place as easily as I would hope
b) The weapon holder is not easy enough to disguise when he is in T-Rex mode. I was hoping for a bit more basic dino.

But the most important thing is that the kids recognized him in both modes when compared to the 1986 movie. He is their new favorite character, and that is the only reason I wanted him in the first place.

Now, if Hasbro can get up off their buts and make some classics deluxe of the rest of the Dinobots, I will be really happy.

I think Hasbro has so much going with the movie line that they have put other things on the backburner, not to mention the new series toys that will be coming out. I would hope that some new classics come out soon. The other Dinobots would be a great addition.
AUTOBOTS FTW!!!!!!!!!

DID YOU GUYS SEE THE SIZE OF THAT CHICKEN!!!

Jetfire is awesome though.

I believe Hasbro/Takara sold off the name Hot Rod along with several others, so they are not able to use the name anymore.

they didn't SELL it. They just failed to keep it like many other names. Jazz, Ratchet, and a couple others all have to have "Autobot" tacked in front of their name. Deceps took a hit too, Hook, Long Haul, others... all gone. FAIL.

Hmm, you never cease to be rude do you.

Hasbro "lost" trademarks more than one way. Yes some ,and maybe most, because they were not used for a long period and another company used it, but as hasbro didn't think the transformers toy line was going anywhere in the US after the g1 line some were sold. Trademarks are sold, it happens all the time.

I have a bone to pick with Hasbro. I'll just leave my rudeness at that for now.

They have recycled a lot of those names. At least they didn't rename Hook "erector". Though, Hightower makes no sense so it's almost worse.
