Spoke to a friend from school who is now a consultant on this (not sure what he's consulting on) and he confirmed the Devastator thing. However, interestingly, he also said that the script still changes slightly every now and then, and that Devastator could theoretically be replaced by another huge thing. So in theory he could become Bruticus, or Menasor, or someone else although it's highly unlikely.

He also confirmed that there's no Grimlock.
