For anyone willing to pay the price that missed out on the likes of Tracks, Miester, and Dead End, here you go.

Case Fresh

I pretty sure they are from the land down under, but you might be paying less than you woudl via Ebay and Collector stores.

I'm having encountered feelings about Alternators. I say this, because I prefer small scale robots, and I have focused my TF budget towards G1, especially Autobot cars and other formerly Microman TFs, but your pictures seem very tempting to go get at least one...

Alright, enough of drooling over the keyboard. I want to put a question straight: Anybody here has enough experience on these figures to tell the difference between a production release and a prototype? A friend of mine came to me with this question and since I'm not into Alternators or Energon, I can't be positive if the models he has are legit prototypes or not. Your input will be very appreciated.

The WJ you have shown there is the finished one, unless it says "Not for RESALE" somewhere, only reason I add that is because some prototype WJS were in finished state.

Decipticahrger there is a prototype. There is nothing on the plate, and Binaltech line Decipti, eh, I mean Wildrider(they got a better name....) might actually be silver in body instead now.

The other one is not Alternators, and is a prototype of I think a character called Kicker? TT would know better on the last one.

Also, watch out if you see someone or group tryign to pass a Black Sides Swipe off in a Dead End box, as they are not factory errors or anything of the like.

Thanks buddy. I myself am very reluctanct to pay premium for TF prototypes, since they are quite easy to fake.

I have suffered scams, of course; fortunately not with high prices at all, but it really pisses me off.

Thanks Ben.

When it's about a rare color variant, I prefer to go for a beater. I have way more chances on getting a legit model, and yes, I'm aware that Bluestreaks are only silver. ;)

Interesting. What would it be named after? Skids, Ionhide or Ratchet?

Then I would place my bets on Ironhide and Ratchet, since they just need a recolor and bang, two different products with a single tooling.

In fact, they could use a new Honda minivan, since Hasbro has produced other Hondas in this series (unlike Porsche).

I forgot ot mention this, but it was also said the MVP Alternator, had a Hot Rod type Head.

There is also a new rumor going around. Mega Versions of Alternators. When the Alternators were first put out, they were considered to be Deluxe TFs. Now we have a rumor of a MPV, which is a bigger vehicle than teh Sports models they been putting out, and with this new email sayin a Mega version was in the Toys R Us Computer, we could be seeing Alts in the 30 dollar price with vehicles other than sports cars.

Some are throwing around the Idea of Optimus Prime as a Mega in a Truck mode.

Can't remember last time I have to post more than a few tiems a week on Alts.

237873 EX TF MEGA ALTERNATORS (Style # 81334)

That is now in the Toys R Us system. Notice it says Mega. Ones out now are considered Deluxe.

What do you mean with Mega?

I always visualized the Masterpiece Optimus (which, I reckon has a cheaper version, as Binaltech and Alternators as well) as the correct truck for this scale... Since I don't have any Alternators I am pretty ignorant on this line (which is certainly catching my eye, but I'm still reluctant to them for the scale).

If it's going to be a larger robot, boy, it really has to be huge. I remember those Tamiya trucks in 1/18 scale and they were monsters... Excellent details, but you have to live on a hangar to keep a collection of those.
