well, my boyfriend (Cliffjumper) is amazingly bad at budgeting, but he loves collecting and i know how it is with Transformers considering i love them so much myself (i just collect vicariously through him hehehehehe), but i do feel for "other halves" because if you are going to spend all your time and money on your collection then why would you need another half???

so the question is, are you satisfied with your collecting and would you ever give it up for the one you love???
if not thats cool, you've obviously found true love, but if so, then you need to "budget" your time and money to satisfy both parties....

yes i know, a little too much thought put into this one, but hey we're all friends here, i can afford to be honest hehehehe :)

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Are you Elita-One or Grimlock? J/k

I think its sweet how much you love Cliffjumper and especially that you are supportive of his collecting!

I tell you what......... this is one of the few boards where you could register at Toys R Us and nobody would think anything about it!

DW is mostly indifferent. I don't spend any money that would be missed, and most of it comes from selling off my other collectibles anyway. (Mostly Star Wars stuff that I've had for years.) (Decades in some cases!) She was a bit suprised that I got into TF's though. They haven't even been on my radar for well nigh 20 years, and last Novemeber I said "I'm selling off my Star Wars stuff." And she didn't really ask any questions, even when the boxes started showing up at the door. But she's cool with it. (I keep it under control.)

And they look so cool on a shelf, don't they?

(Plus this is my way of getting even with her for getting me into anime!)
(Which I'm now more "into" than she was... hmmm... so maybe not! )

My girlfreind HATES it so does the rest of my family. They always complain " whenever we open a cupboard door a transformer is guarding something " at which point she gives the tf to grimlock to play with  so i keep a spade at the back door to retrive them and put them back.

Maybe you could consolidate them into one collection area, rather than having them hidden about for potential use of dog toys ;)

Could do but they will have to be 5 - 7 feet off the ground or grimlock can reach them. I will suggest putting up some shelves around some rooms and then grimlock cant reach them and they are not everywhere in the house. :D

I'm w/ UM. My man and I don't have the biggest collection of the bunch, but we are pretty opposite. He LOVES them and wants them all just like I do, but if I bring just ONE home he gets mad because he doesn't like me spending the money... even though we both do pretty well with it, it's a strange opposite we need to fix! CONFUSING, HUH??? I honestly think I am crazier about them then he is. Hee hee...We both eventually come to an agreement, that's only because he knows he wants it, too. It took me forever to get him to let me get all of the episodes!!!

and that's exactly it - jealousy!

I'm lucky too - although Mrs S is faaaar too girly to collect TFs, she is still very much a toy collector in general and collects My Little Pony, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite - anything pink or rainbow-ey (is that a word!?) and she wants to own it. If I want to disguise a large purchase, I just wave a new Care Bear in front of her and the distraction is done

I'M, more of the "money-spender" than he is, I'll go buy one of the newer ones when I see a good one, and then I tell him it's for him, then he's not so mad! HAHAHA! I don't think I could EVER be girly enough! All I used to do is watch every cartoon ever made, and now I am SO HAPPY that my husband let me get the whole TFs cartoon on DVD that way it will last longer! All of the G1 cartoon is on those DVDs and it only costed me close to $100.00! [With S&H] Now our kid can watch them, too. Just passing on the obsession! HAHA!

Talking of passing on the passion, my son has taken a liking to them as well. He plays with some of the toys that I gave him and I have allowed him access into my room. He loves the Action Master prime truck. I just take the guns off and let him play with it. Its only Prime.... j/k. I have been looking for one to get him cheap but haven't found one yet.

I gave my son a Powermaster Prime...He loves that thing...

My wife just smiles and shakes her head.

One of my sons favorite TF series is Masterforce....I only have the Subtittled version....so most of the time he makes up what is happening. He says the subs go by to fast for him to keep up with. The first time I heard him in his room singing the theme song to TF headmasters in Japanese I about died laughing. Oh, He's 7 by the way....passing the torch already. :D

I'm jealous of both you CM and Hot Shot - I want a mini-con to pass on the mantle to as well.... Me and the Mrs are getting broody, but we want to get married first. Not cos' of "tradition" or anything silly like that, but since we're getting married in Florida, how on earth will we both enjoy all those rides at the theme parks with a tiny baby to look after? :?

I can't wait to have a little one (saying that would have scared the crap out of me even just a year ago, it's funny how you suddenly change!) :D

My little mini-con is only 3. I am proud that he likes them and is follwoing in my footsteps, tho I think when he is old enough to join here Rodimus Prime will be handing the Matrix of leadership to him. He like the Autobots, still, I have plenty of time to get him round to my way of thinking.

Use aversion therapy. Every time the word Autobot is used around him, do something he hates, like feed him something he doesn't like, or break a toy he loves.... (totally j/k)
