Yeah, I think the classic rodimus(hot rod) and the titanium rodimus are much better figures.

it was 1986.. it was a car from the future that tuned into a robot...

it's about more that just the figure sometimes.
the new ones are updates of that feeling which will always be sparked by the original

by impressed i meant as in transformation. it was basic compared to optimus prime, megatron, soundwave and jetfire.

i was more often fascinated by the actual transformation vs the look of the figure be it car, gun, jet etc.

compared to optimus prime (which is more articulated) hot rod was something that was "thrown together" with no real thought.

but thats my opinion.

there's an interview somewhere with one of the senior takara designers who has done transformers since the inception. particularly he spoke about design problems imposed by toy safety regulations of the U.S. Chief among them is the "wishbone" problem of kids being able to pry/snap the individual legs off of the figures and then it becomes a choking hazard. To get around this problem they specifically engineered many transformers to have the "brick" legs of non-articulation...just one solid "leg area" instead of individual legs. The whole time he was talking about this he was holding a hot rod. He said they had the technology and engineering to do individual legs that were fairly articulate (G1 Hun-grr) but for smaller figures it was a choking hazard so they all had the "brick" form of legs.

The USB Ravage is totally awesome! Once you plug in the jumpdrive it allows you to upload programing to display a computerized Ravage that roams around the desktop screen and icons. He can roar, leap, prowl and eat the desktop icons! He sleeps and transforms from USB to cat. The icons can be restored and no loss. It was a complete pleasant surprise and fun! It's a great purchase! :D

My patience finally paid off! :P I have been looking for a near mint conditioned Micro Change Series Binoculars Robot Scopeman. It has the viewer lens you can see thru like the G1 Reflector lens. Also comes with attachable straps to wear around your neck.

I was able to find one at a very reasonable price....$75 with free shipping! The ones I've seen, the sellers wanted closer to over $200 bucks! The chrome has some scratches on it, but nothing is broken or excessively loose. I'm pleased with it!

Here's the pics:

Boo! How does Scopeman not include a bottle of mouthwash accessory?

Seriously, great score, man!

Just recieved today the Tripticon Transforming Laser PC Mouse. It's pretty cool! His decepticon symbol lights up when plugged in and he's pretty easy to transform. I like the transformation to Dinosaur. :D He operates like a regular mouse.

Little disappointment doesn't have any hidden programming like Ravage. :(
