I hope i don't get flamed for this...
I find that Transformers from 1997 and on don't look as good as the ones from 1984, 1985 and 1986.
I can't explain it really except to say that they look as if they are of cheaper quality and the choice of colors make them look a little on the "cheasy" side.
This is my opinion and i was just wondering if i am alone on this one.

There is definetly a classic look to the G1 TF's but the newer ones are more posable and you don't have the worries of stickers or easy breakage. Don't get me wrong I love TF's from he 80's I just believe that they have come a long way especially the alternators and the classics.
AUTOBOTS FTW!!!!!!!!!
DID YOU GUYS SEE THE SIZE OF THAT CHICKEN!!!

"Diecast construction, its a lost art" OP.
I agree, the bots today look cheaper, something to do with the coloring not looking realistic to me. But as Sideswipe mentioned, posability and durability have come a long way. I think later in the G1 line they had trouble coming up with ideas and we ended up with stupid toys (I'm of coarse refering to action masters but their were a few others)
