repainting the chrome on g1 optimus prime

has anyone repainted the chrome parts on the g1 optimus to chrome or does that take away value and should be something left alone?

I'd leave it alone. there are companies where you can send in parts to be re-chromed, though i have yet to do so myself. they will make it look like new.

If your chrome parts are on a less then steller toy, a silver sharpie marker will make it Silver/grey. Yes, I have done this. Now it does take what shine was left but I don't really ever have the desire to sell them. I have even bought, for parts, a Shrapnel that has the chrome parts painted gold, $1. Also some of the newer ones the have monocolor wheels I've silvered up. Again realize it is silver not chrome before you go and do this. :)
