Transformer Boxes

Post by Sixshot »

Does anyone now any websites, ebay stores, retailers, etc. that sell Transformer Boxes Mint condition with plastic or styrofoam inserts included besides TFL and Mirage Boxes? I really would like to box some of my Loose Complete G1 Toys, 'cause I have no space 2 display them in my small apartment now! Thanks in advance, !

The seller trendclick on ebay has a bunch as well. Some of them are high, but he can be reasonable. Wheeljack's lab on ebay is still good. I have a bunch of boxes from him.

Deal with Trendclick at your own risk, I say. I've purchased a few things from him, and always been unhappy.

For instance, he does a terrible job of describing items, and it appears that he stages pictures to reveal as little damage as possible.

Aside from my first choice which is TFL........

I like Wheeljack's Lab too, everything I have gotten from him was good. I bought a Jetfire sticker sheet, Soundwave sticker sheet and a Jetfire instruction booklet from him.

I just bought something from Trendclick and now the post I just read about him has me worried.

I wouldn't know anything about Transformers at all though if if weren't for TFL.

If you PM me a link to what you bought from him... I bet I can predict what you'll find wrong with it when you get it, if anything.

Actually, let me clarify:

I'm not saying EVERYTHING he sells is bad. I'm not even saying most of what he sells is bad. I'm just saying that he could do a MUCH better job of accurately describing things. Usually, on the Buy It Now stuff it IS priced accordingly with the actual condition it's in... my major issue is that the description (and usually the pictures) don't mention it, or don't mention it as accurately as I would like. So what ends up happening is that it *looks* like you're getting a decent deal... and then you end up finding out you probably paid a little too much. Does that make sense?

yeah your saying he doesnt describe to the detail you would like and leads on the idea that its a better deal than it really is

Exactly. For instance, I purchased a box. This is how he listed it:

"The item is good condition. Robot point and tech spec still attach on the box. Nothing is cut from the box."

"The left flag has some damaged. Please check the picture for details"

"Comes as you see in the picture."

The picture is a head on shot. You can see two spots of damage on the face. You can't even see the bloody 'left flag'. Turns out, the left flag is virtually destroyed, and hanging on by a mere thread. *I* (nor anyone I would consider sane) would call this 'good condition'.

Maybe he's a former comic dealer? Where 'good condition' basically means "beat to hell, with a few creases & tears here and there, but you should be able to make out most of the pictures. Maybe. If you're lucky. Oh, and the cover is detached from the spine".

If you look, just about EVERYTHING he posts is 'good condition'. If you're picky, at the very least I'd avoid anything he sells unless he says its in 'excellent condition'. And even then, I'd try to get extra pictures.

I had a similar experience with a seller. I will not name them, but I feel the need to share.

I recently purchased a Gen1 UM trailer. It was listed in good condition. The seller went on and on about how the was no yellowing, and the rubber tires did not show any sign of dry-rot/cracking.

The picture was a shot of the driver's side of the trailer. Everything looked great.

When I received the piece, everything was perfect.....except:
The rear door on the trailer (the two pieces that were factory installed, and double as UM's shin gaurds) were not there at all.

When I contacted the seller their exact quote was, "I never said it was complete."

I don't buy boxes. If the Tf comes with one then its a bonus. I did once get a 'complete' bruticus with both of onsluaghts arms glued back on and he came combined with the oher four combaticons with just the fists, head, shield and feet. No guns or accesories Included (they were all in the pics though). Don't worry he's no longer a registered user on that site.

The mechabot 1 I got recently. description said 'works'
I had to repair one of the legs mechanisms.

I generally take the same approach Des. In this case, it was for a combiner leader, and I already had 4 nice cardbacks for the rest, so, I figured I might as well finish it up.

Mmmm, mechabot. I need one of those! Keep your eyes open for me! I've been tempted to just paint one of Omegas into mechabot... but it just wouldn't be the same.
