His Dino head? Sounds like all the gold chrome has worn off.

I remember trance having something similar. Can't remember if there was a thread about it though

That was up for debate and one Snarl had a dino head darker than the other. As I thought he had one completely black, I didn't make the association. That case was, in my opinion, a shade difference and it could have happened for the mixture used in the factory, but not necessarly an intentional difference. However, this may have been consistant for a while and thus, making a whole batch of Snarls darker.

it is his dino head that is dark but none of his other gold parts are faded or worn and he is in excellent shape

I'd say that for GBP 1 you got a steal and you have a shade variation!

OK, duh. Snarl's dino head was clear.
Are you sure it's not a gray G2 Snarl? Maybe there was a difference there.

I have a 'Dark' G1 Snarl, has been like it since I got it years ago. His dino head is almost black as are the legs that I haven't replaced (Clip damage on one of the original legs).

EDIT: Found it, hidden deep in the depths of Transformerland:

The date stamp should be on the inside of one of the black pieces of his robot mode legs. Can be quite hard to spot.

Does someone have both they could post a pic of side-by-side? I don't think I've ever seen Dark Snarl.

The G2 was made in China and has "Autobot" stamped.
Also, the dark Snarl can be seen on the link Rumble has provided.
