removing paint

Post by LD2062 »

I got these in a group of toys today.

I believe they're ultra magnus fists repainted to be prime's. How would I go about stripping the paint without damaging the plastic?

I think at least some of the paint is enamel.

Lick it off.

If that disgusts you, get your girlfriend's cat to do it.

Try:
1.rubbing them with a tissue soaked with rubber alcohol
or
2.use break fluid.Soak them for a day and then rub them with a tooth brush.
I haven't tried the second, but some friends of mine said they successfully removed paint from plastic warhammer figures without damaging the plastic.
Far over the Misty Mountains cold, To dungeons deep and caverns old. The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night, The fire was red, it flaming spread, The trees like torches blazed with light.

I've heard Castrol super clean is good for removing paint. Unfortunately I've never tried it myself.

Get Plastic model paint thinner. Or Terpentine...
All that was needed is a catalyst... and the machines of war are set in motion.

Hydrochloric acid may do the trick. Then again you might not have any parts left but hey the paint will be gone. :P
