I went to a toy store this friday and they had a terrible Optimus Prime box, which a friend of mine passed on. I was thinking about it for a whole day and I said "what the heck, I'm going to collect some cardboard", and I brought it home in order to fix it. Pictures:

The best part is the rear. Ironic is that it still has the robot points.

It came in terrible shape... As if a dog used it as a toy. But I love challenge!

I had to rebuild it inside - with a completely different cardboard to make it noticeable it is a restoration.

"Reinforcements from my home". I added these cardboard hinges to add stiffness.

I cut the boxart, as I don't see it so much salvageable. However, I kept it for testing.

The gray part was very bad too, so off it went.

And I made a new one (this was the hardest to do) of a more stiff cardboard.

A new window, with a much thicker plastic.

A first test. And I placed the gray part behind the window to protect its edges.

With boxart.
I have came with this project up to this point so far, I have to find a proper printer to rebuild the boxart and tech specs. Stay tuned for more pictures...
