out of character (Polyhex discussion)
Sometimes i try to use ALL CAPS or underline when i'm talking to or about people with the same names as their characters. It helps me organize my thoughts. (For example, SCRAMBLE has a Matrix of Leadership, but Scramble, being a Decepticon, probably does not.)
SEPH-BLADE, what does Seph-Blade look like? Clean, with wings, but wings like Starscream (medium) or Skyfire (large) or Powerglide (small) or Ratbat (extra small) or Sky Lynx (extra large) or Kickback or a Micromaster...? How big is Seph-Blade? graceful and silent like a sneaky little cat or a massive stealth bomber? trying to use size to intimidate, or trying to be seen as a gentle giant, or an equal, someone average, or even someone smaller and weaker than average to lull others into a false sense of security? He landed light on his feet, but does he have a humanoid robot mode, or is he in beast mode, or what? (Actually, has the role play even established Seph-Blade is a Transformer, instead of a parrot or some other species with feet, wings, and speech?)
Do you know what's in any of the Omega-19 crates or should i make something up? i have a few ideas, but i want to make sure i don't foul up any plans that you're... planning. Please let me know in this thread if you want us to exchange ideas via private messages, or publicly in this thread, or if we should just add things in the role play directly, without needing to discuss them ahead of time.
SCRAMBLE, i made up a reason for Magna Guard to be following your character, but i didn't want to put words in your mouth, so to speak. Do you want to say Scramble or Echo did steal those files, or did not, or do you want to decide what's best for the story later? Please let me know in this thread if you want us to exchange ideas via private messages, or publicly in this thread, or if we should just add things in the role play directly, no need to discuss.
To SCRAMBLE and SEPH-BLADE and anyone else joining the game: Magna Guard is trying to be sneaky, but if he succeeds, then how would our characters ever interact? If you want to have someone notice him, i don't mind. i'm also considering the possibility that thanks to him prying open that crate, something might fall--either the whole crate could fall, or it might just spill some of its contents, or the crate could shift so one or more other crates fall... or maybe just the sound of Magna Guard's crate shifting, or the sound of the lid coming loose, could be loud enough for someone to hear.

Re: out of character (Polyhex discussion)
Sure thing Rhymus Scramble & Echo could totally have stolen the files.
Seph-Blade i need to ask, is there still a separation between Decepticons & Autobots or is it more gangs with mixed fighting each other?

To All
Sorry for the delay in responding in the RP thread. Been traveling. Going to be out of pocket until this coming Tuesday. After that Ill be home and able to respond more easily.

To Rhymus
I will attach a file of Commissioned Artwork I have for Seph-Blade. I posted a description in the RP as well. Size wise I'd say he's around g1 seeker size, maybe a smidge bigger. His alt is a sleek stealthy jet. I will also post a tech spec for Seph-Blade soon, as I noticed a place for those in another thread. Ill follow the format I see there. I thought I would just throw up an old setting I used to use and see if anyone wanted to bite. Since yall have I am happy to just casually roll with it.
In my latest reply I did make note of what Magna found, however if you have something in mind I can roll with it. I will be honest here. I am using chat gtp tp help me craft this as we write. Its open to whoever wants to jump in. Ill keep responding both for my own personal character, and for the narration of the scene. We can chat here or in PM's its all good to me.
I think one of us noticing you once the crate opens is a great idea, I may tweak me post for Seph to plant that he heard, or suspects someone is already there.
To Scramble
The way I recall the setting going was that In Praxsis (Decepticon city) and Metrocon (Autobot city) The remnants of both factions are hold up within their respective cities. Those places would not safe for the opposing factions to enter.
In Polyhex and Helix they are both neutral ground, the factions or more or less gangs/packs loners regardless of factions or affiliations.

Re: out of character (Polyhex discussion)
i don't know if anyone read or cared what i posted in Polyhex: The City That Never Sleeps (or Forgets) a few days ago, but i edited it: i have decided i was rude to stomp on Scramble asking Seph-Blade "who are you?" (plus i want to find out how Seph-Blade responds). i just hope it wasn't rude to "take back" what i posted before.
To be clear, while i'm trying not to be rude, i'm not sure if Magna Guard cares if he's being rude. i always imagined Magna Guard being willing to use violence or threats of violence to try to get the NAIL files, but i originally meant that to be his backup plan. First he would try to seem casual, even friendly, and try to confirm Echo actually stole the files (trying not to antagonize Scramble or his tapes in case Magna Guard guessed wrong about who stole the files), and then Magna Guard would try to get Scramble/Echo to hand over the files or reveal their location so Magna Guard could (try to) steal them. If all that didn't work, he'd consider threats or violence.
For planning purposes, here's the "deleted scene":
From Polyhex: The City That Never Sleeps (or Forgets)
Does Scramble already have Echo, Razorbeak, Tracer, and Fade? Are they with Scramble now? Maybe, for example, finding Razorbeak in this crate is how Scramble and Razorbeak meet for the first time? or maybe, for example, Tracer and Fade have been missing a long time, and now here they are in this crate? or maybe, as someone who already has tape companions, Scramble tries to rescue/recruit some more, and/or recognizes some as a rival's tape minions and tries to capture them or make them switch sides?
So far Seph-Blade's faction symbol has not been explained; i thought i might deepen the mystery by putting the same symbol on a tape in the crate. How long this crate been sealed? How old is Seph-Blade's faction? Would Seph-Blade be surprised to see that symbol on a tape in such an old crate? Is that tape a mysterious stranger, or someone Seph-Blade knows or has heard of?
Of course, all the TFs awake in this scene might want to claim all the tapes and all the interface cores, if only to keep others from getting them and thus gaining an advantage. (Armada Mini-Cons/storage panels come to mind.)
i don't have a profile for Magna Guard. i'm kind of making him up as i go, so hopefully i can adjust him based on what the game seems to need. i'm basing his appearance on the MagnaGuard toy, and we can decide later if we have to specify whether he's actually a reprogrammed/modified MagnaGuard from the Star Wars A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, or retcon his vehicle mode as a Cybertronian design. In my mind, he's like a fighter jet, around the same size as Starscream from the G1 cartoon (so around the same size as Seph-Blade)... which makes him similar in size to Autobots like Jazz the car or Optimus Prime the truck, or Decepticons like robot mode Megatron or cassette carrier Soundwave (so around the same size as Scramble). Transformers fiction rarely does scale very well. i'd like to do better, but my mind is mimicking what it's used to seeing. Plus, if i'm vague about his size now, i can make up something specific if/when it becomes relevant to the plot later. ("Curse you, Rail Racer! You know I can't fit in a subway tunnel! Oh, wait a minute, yes I can.")

i rewrote my post so Magna Guard has not yet found any tapes, but i still kind of want them to be there. We'll see how things develop, and when might be a more interesting time to discover them. Still a possibility for Magna Guard to accidentally spill the crate, for example.Rhymus wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 6:52 am Time to get out of here, Magna Guard thought, before I lose my mind. Although, apparently he had a few extra brains in this crate. He wouldn't take time to grab all of them, plus someone might come to investigate his unauthorized access, and notice if they were all gone, but might overlook a few missing. He took the glowing one and several others, then paused. Beneath the interface cores and layers of shock foam were neat rows of data-tapes. No way to tell just by looking if they were totally blank or held any useful or useless information, or misinformation, or malware. But he could tell by looking that they looked like they turned into robots, or robotic animals. This looked like a Noise type, that one an Enemy type... here was an Eject type, there was a Beastbox type, and a few looked like Cobalt Sentry designs.
But were any or all of them mindless drones, or actual Transformers with sparks? Had any of them ever even been activated? Were they prisoners of war? From which side or sides of the conflict? One had an emblem Magna Guard did not quite recognize -- though it looked Decepticon, it was modified, perhaps some kind of offshoot or sub faction. Were the interface cores taken from these tapes?
All those questions would have to wait. Someone might already be on their way to investigate Magna Guard's unauthorized access to the crate, and Magna Guard preferred not to meet them without knowing more about them or the situation. For now, he decided to take the whole crate after all. He opened his chest (his starfighter mode's cockpit), quickly dumped the crate's contents inside, resealed his chest, and then resealed the crate. Leave the crate and its unauthorized access detector behind.
He did not plan to leave without Scramble though.
Drawing a second blaster, Magna Guard suddenly dropped in behind Scramble and told him, "Come with me if you want to live." To the stranger, Magna Guard said, "Don't try to stop us."

Most Transformers can't achieve escape velocity, but quite a few can. Star Wars starfighters usually can, if that's what Magna Guard is... but starfighters like Star Wars' MagnaGuards fly also have hyperdrives for interstellar travel faster than the speed of light, which most Transformers (including Magna Guard, i think) can't do. i dunno. Seems to me like Transformers who can't fly to and through space on their own can often find someone who can. But i guess we'll see if any of our characters feel the need to try and if they succeed.Seph-Blade wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:07 pm The Reckoning tore the planet in half, creating a magnetic disruption so severe that entire hemispheres can no longer communicate. Re: out of character (Polyhex discussion)
I think I am going to finally attempt to bring myself back into the RP game. But before I do that, I am going to re-look over my character sheet, but it seems my past self already did. I still have some tweaking to do, I think.

Re: out of character (Polyhex discussion)
Scramble, what pronouns should i use for Echo, Razorbeak, Tracer, and Fade? (Magna Guard knows something about Scramble and Echo, but we'll have to see how the story develops to find out how much. For example, maybe Echo is female, but Magna Guard accidentally refers to her as "him". Maybe that makes Echo mad or makes Scramble suspicious. Or maybe they've all met before, so of course Magna Guard would know if Fade is a "he", Tracer's a "she", and Razorbeak is trans[formerly].)
i'm experimenting with Magna Guard's name being like Optimus Prime's. Sometimes people call him Optimus, sometimes people call him Prime, and sometimes people call him Optimus Prime. But "Prime" may be a title, and i don't think "Magna" or "Guard" is. i dunno-- maybe i should ask Ultra Magnus and Pyra Magna. Maybe "Prime" and "Guard" are both job titles?
i think i've decided that, unlike the toy that inspired him, Magna Guard is smaller than Hound (like Cliffjumper in the first episode of the 1984 cartoon) but larger than Bumblebee (like Powerglide in the episode "Dinobot Island").
Trying to leave Cybertron might drive the plot forward, but i worry that actually leaving Cybertron might isolate our characters, make it a little less believable to cross paths with new characters if more players want to join the game. Maybe instead of trying to leave Cybertron, might try to reach the far side of Cybertron for some reason.

Magna Guard opened a crate containing brain module interface cores—cerebral shells used to encode, preserve, or transfer AI subroutines. Could those contain your disembodied sparks?Sideways wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 7:47 pm We explored leaving Cybertron in the previous iteration of the RP. I would not be opposed to trying a similar thing here. Like it's been explored multiple times in different media, we have to leave Cyberton because the planet can no longer support us. And then bears the question, do we explore the galaxy trying to find a way to revive our planet, or try to find a new home?
Maybe we can explore something along the lines of Beast Machines - we're survivors on a Cybertron where some sort of event happened and the mass population are just sparks now with no bodies and we have to find out how to restore them, etc?
There's plenty of avenues to discover.
I'm also okay with you discovering alternate versions of my character, like from RiD or Cybertron or even Bayverse.

Magna Guard just stopped trying to hide from Scramble and Seph-Blade, and accidentally destabilized a few crates. Maybe Seph-Blade or Scramble says something to Magna Guard. Maybe a crate, or several crates, will fall on or near Seph-Blade or Scramble or Magna Guard before anyone says anything else, spilling interface modules, cassettes, or severed heads across the floor. Maybe Sideways knocked over the crates while coming in through the roof -- maybe by accident, maybe on purpose. Maybe someone down below sees or hears the crates falling and instinctively opens fire, and maybe a shot hits or almost hits Sideways, even if nobody's seen him yet. If Sideways is currently combined with Crosswise, maybe Rook is in one of the crates, and seeing [him?] when the crate cracks open motivates Sideways to enter the warehouse.Seph-Blade wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:07 pm Cybertron is broken.

BTW which factions are people playing as?
I imagine that Scramble is somewhat a Decepticon or something like that, like working for a Decepticon-like gang.
