Hasbro quality

Post by edwardm »

I have recently started to collect some TF and have noticed a few quality issue with the classics line.
First, the classic bumble bee that I bought has two right hands.
The other thing I notice was with the Classic Optimis Prime. On the box pix it shows his knee flaps flipped around from the actaul toy.
Last the Titanium G1 soundwave that I bought from K mart had his leg come clean off. It was not held to his body at all. Just lying there in the box.
Has this sort of quality been with the TF line all the way back or do I just have bad luck?

I am not dogging on Transformers, I love the cartoon and toy line.
More of a information purpose thing.

Thanks

I am not sure. The quality is always great with hasbro takara in my experience. there wasa post about the titanium line somehwere in the forums that complained about there arms/legs popping out. I only have 'Fallen' from the titanium line and he does not have that problem. maybe another user has more experience with them.

there are indeed some issues with the classic line, such things as mismounted feet (megatron tank) and no paint job on identical models is the same, (ramjet)

you have a point concearning the knee flaps on OP, he and ultra magnus have their kneeflaps reversed, didn't notice it till now, even the instruction show them in the "right" direction,

for bumblebee, i'd hold on to him i inspected mine and he seems normal so does my cliffjumper, so yours can make some buck maybe later

for the rest i haven't got any complaints about the classics line,

the leg thing is bad luck i guess , my 20th an prime also had his right foot dismembered but it snapped right in again

hasbro is a bit known for some design flaws, like the bumblebee movie old camaro , it has a breaking tab problem,

in the g1's the most common foe is age and wear,
The past is the greatest teacher

The original G1s were tough, these new ones are thrown together. A real rush job to get the money in quicker.

I think takara did all the hard work and hasbro just dispatched it [after they sneakily put there company name on the product]. that in my opion is why G1 toys were very robust. [i can show you pics of damaged G1 toys if you really want. they were the ones i had a s a kid].
