By 1994, Transformers had returned in the United States under the G2 banner, now in the care of the Hasbro Toys division. Even though Europe’s supply of Transformers releases had not dried up, Hasbro International shifted their branding to read “Generation 2” in Europe. The first year included numerous re-packaged (and in some cases, renamed) figures from Europe’s unique 1991-1993 line, as well as some of the toys released in the US G2 line the previous year.
The US G2 revival was short, however, and the series petered out by the following year. Regardless, Hasbro’s European division carried the US selection for that year with the addition of the Power Masters, which had been dropped from the US release due to flagging sales in the faster-paced marketing of toys. The Power Masters are the only molds unique to European G2, and only accidentally so. However, the line carried some unique variations and color schemes not seen elsewhere. This guide lists only the toys released under the European Generation 2 brand that were not sold in the United States (but regardless if they were included in Europe’s G1). They are called by their English or multinational names, eschewing non-English names.
