USD 12-15 plus shipping.
Probably not even that much, currently. Somebody in China found a case of them, MOSC, and had them on Ebay last month. Sold over a dozen, for an average of under $25.00 USD SHIPPED. The last one sold for $1.04 + $15.00 shipping.

IF there are any up for auction on Evil-Bay right now, the demand is going to be VERY low. I've seen two sets go for $10 shipped.

Firstly, Sixshot, you'll need to watch out for fakes. There have been a LOT of giftset boxes and styros making their way over from China since last summer :( (for about $60 IIRC). Just to be clear, I'm not talking about fake Devastators... we all know about those. I'm talking about fake BOXES and STYROS.

The range here is HUGE... $100-$400. It looks like you'll have better luck getting a 'deal' if you search for "giftset" or "gift set", and hope the seller excludes "MIB". Without looking into it too deeply, I'm also assuming that some of this gigantic range is a factor of provenance.

Alas, these days, I'm not 100% certain you can even trust the "reputable" TF sellers... since I've relatively recently seen a VERY well known (and reportedly reputable) Evil-Bay seller selling an obvious KO as legit.

I'd advise that you do your homework and ask for extra pictures if you're looking to buy something on the upper ends of the range.

Or you could always be patient and get one from Trance. At least you know it is original.

Do you, CM? Let me me start this by saying: I AM IN NO WAY SAYING ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT TRANCE. You can insert virtually any "expert" into the following theory, and it will still hold.

I repeat. THIS IS NOT ABOUT TRANCE. He is DEFINITELY NOT the person I was referring to earlier. Are we clear? Okay, on to the theory (and the HUGE bucket of worms it opens):

A select few of the G1 accurate KO's that have been produced lately are very nearly (if not completely) indistinguishable from original Hasbro/Takara product. If you're lucky, you *might* be able to differentiate them with a magnifying glass. They look the same. They feel the same. Essentially, they *are* the same.

So, unless ALL of a seller's product was purchased, by said seller, before about 2005, how are they going to know the difference? I'm not talking about blatant misrepresentation here... even assuming there *are* magnifying glass level differences to be seen... is it cost effective to do so? Are all sellers looking at everything that's been accurately knocked off with a magnifying glass? Do even *they* know what to look for?

Just food for thought... and probably a new thread, mods?

I don't see - yet - the need for a new thread (Actually, that's what the others; Reflector and Prime, are for, at the moment).

I'm with you on this one. The current KOs are very, very close and I don't think any "expert" can be completely positive (holding in hand, I have been fooled for minutes). The buyer must always do its homework before hand.

Also, IMO the best way to know is a lab test. However, if it costs, say, USD 50, and means a scratch to your figure, would you do that to a figure which marginally is worth slightly more? I doubt it. Maybe, for a toy with a value of USD 1000+, but for less, I don't think so.

I just wanted to know, 'cause I'm in the process of negotiating the price from a reputable seller, whose online store I frequent? How does $250 sound for a complete Devastator giftset with a C 7.5 box and C9 or better figures? I'm almost 99.9% sure that the figures aren't fake!

Wow, that's amazing that it was so cheap, so long ago, *sigh*

BTW, should I go even lower? I think I might try for $200-$220? Hopefully, he wants 2 get rid of the thing, :P

The worst you can get is a "no" if you try to offer USD 220. I think it's still fair, so why not? $250 is OK anyway.
